Another option is just hit a drug store. CVS sold me my burner phone. $10 (advertised at $20 but apparently was on sale). Paid cash and use TracFone refill cards. The only trick is when you activate the phone you need another phone. You can sort that one out. Ask a lady to activate it. And give 10 bucks for doing so. It's anon then.

This is yet another reason to get a burner phone not just an app. If something like this happens just block their number immediately.
