As far as I know, the Rt 1 stretch (therefore all of NOVA) has been dead for SW since the late 90's / early 00's. You got to go up into Baltimore or down into Richmond for any SW action.

I've only heard of SWers on Route 1 in Alexandria. I haven't actually connected with one though. Unless you can find some Asian or Hispanic brothel in Falls Church, you won't find any walkers.

I completely agree with you, which is why it surprised me. She was not out on the street corner. When I first saw her, she was not far from the Einstein drive through window, and then moved over closer to the 7/11 and just wandered back and forth in the middle of the space between the two. Just to be sure I was not mistaken, after I finished getting gas, I drove through the lot and she gave me the "look," but I kept going. I really doubt she was a sting, unless they have started using 50's non athletic women. She was slim, but you could see a little cellulite, etc. She did keep her mask on, so I did not get a very good look at her face. I have been by there a couple times since, but no sign of her. Maybe for the exact reason you mentioned.

I somehow doubt that any streetwalkers would last long in that area. Aside from the large concentration of families with children living in that general vicinity, our least favorite uncle lurks nearby. The West Springfield police station is a couple of blocks north on Rolling Road.

I had to run an errand today and spotted a WSW on the corner of Rolling Road and Old Keene Mill Rd in Springfield. When I first saw her, while I was getting some gas, she was hanging out close to the Einstein bagels and then moved over a little closer to the Seven Eleven (at least I think that is what the gas station is) where I got a better look. She looked to be about late 40's or early 50 and there was no question from the look and actions that she was looking for business. Unfortunately, I was not able to get a photo and had a time commitment so I could not make a move, plus street walkers are not really my thing anyway. She was wearing a mid-thigh skirt (despite the cold) and, although she had a mask, she looked better than the average you see over on Rt. 1 FWIW. Anyway, I have never seen a hint of activity in that area before, so I was quite surprised.
