I was in Tampa last week bumming around your area for a little are&are. Not my first time partaking in the business in this area, but it had been a few years. I stopped into silks because its convinient to where I stay when I come down. It was early night, around 9 ish, minimal activity, stayed for about one hour tops. Got a dance from one girl who was ok. I really only stopped there because I know they serve alcohol, which for some reason seems rare in your area. Where I come from every strip club offers alcohol, but to each city their own. Didn't see anything worth the time there, couple girls who looked like they could be the hottest girls in the trailer park if ya know what I mean, but nothing else. Next onto stixxx. I've been here one time before years ago. Always feels sketch, but then again, I don't mind sketch places. Walked in, paid the overpriced fee, old man couldn't even get off his cell phone to say hello, clearly he could care less which is a plus in my book. Distracted employees always mean more activity. I walked in and saw I was the only one there. It was about midnight or so, maybe later. Four girls, all on their phone, sitting on raggety counches covered in blankets. No one on a stage, only one even acknowledged my presence. Luckily she was a latin carmel hottie whos name escapes me unfortunately, and she was as upfront as you can be without saying too much. Told me it was $ plus. 22 to cover the back fee. Normally I would nego some of the fees, but I just didn't care. She said the $ covered " three songs" but added since it was dead we would be back there as "long as it takes". I agreed, was taken back to a pitch black area, then into a closed door room with a red light. She took out all the tools needed to get the job done, stripped down and got into the praying possition. She didn't ask anything, I didn't say anything. She just went to work with a CBJ. She was super sweet, funny, and in talking some hints as well as some things she showed me in her phone made it obvious take out was possible. I got a number and even though I was unable to connect with her before leaving. So if you want an attractive spinner for take out, go to Mons, find Amy, and report what I have to look forward too next trip.

Just my opinion of course, but it's not worth the drive. Unless you just need to relieve some stress of course. The ladies are unattractive and the place is a dump. But hey, that's just me.

While I understand Cook's point about what they call TANSTAAFL in economics (there ain't no such thing as a free lunch), I agree with the OP's main point that making you pay $10 for what, IMHO, is an undrinkable beverage is totally ridiculous. The going rate for drinks at most stripclub's is more on the order of $3-5. Besides, if the idea is to reduce freeloaders than just charge a door fee that comes with a drink if you want it. At least that'd be more upfront.

It's true that some establishments post signs at the entrance if they expect a 2 drink minimum, but most do not strictly enforce that. Personally, I always order a drink shortly after I sit down unless the offerings look so poor I'm not sure I'm going to stay, but that's as much to avoid looking like one of those cheapskate freeloaders as anything else.

Occasionally, I get hit up by a waitress to buy a drink before I even find a place to sit down and I'm not shy about telling her to BACK-OFF the hard sell and that I'll order my drink AFTER I've had a chance to find a spot (or else just leave if the place is dead and / or all the girls are ugly).

BTW, another tip (at least for the places that serve it) is to order an alcoholic beverage the 1st time if you're new to a place. Dancers notice stuff like that and it helps reassure them that you're not a cop.

As for a 2nd drink, unless I'm staying there for a while, I nurse my 1st beer and rarely order a 2nd and rarely do I get hassled for it as long as I'm spending money in other ways and not behaving like a complete cheapest getting a free show. In other words, I always tip the door girl at least a buck when I come in (if there is one), tip the waitress for that 1st drink and any that follow and tip the girls on stage at least a buck or two (unless they're really ugly, but even some of them if they've been nice). Oh yeah, and if I've paid (or plan on paying) for a VIP session, they can just kiss my lily white ass if they still want to insist on my meeting their arbitrary drink minimum.
