Ditto your tenth, eleventh and most recent post.
You have never contributed even a morsel of information to this or any other board. Your feeble rebuttals lack humor and intelligence. All you do is take up bandwidth.
Did you ever stop and wonder why not one member has ever responded to your requests for info on TBC, officer?
You once said you were resigning your membership. Do us all a favor and be true to your word.

As far as the Haven being a Dive, I don't see it as such, I guess it all depends on where you're coming from.
If you were raised in the City with corner "Neighborhood Bars" dotting the landscape, this is an atmosphere you find yourself Comfortable in.
If you're from the Suburbs where things could be called more Upscale like Bars in a Restaurant or in a Strip Mall that you have in the Counties, well then the Haven might not be for you.
I haven't patronized the Gold Club in Years, too "Businesslike" for me, you can't "Hang Out" there and certainly don't get to know the people working there. The Gold Club is a Strip Club. The Haven is a BAR, there's a Big Difference in both the Clientele and Staff and the Attitudes in each.

I am only going to say this nicely once.
This is an open, public, forum.
It is for the exchange of information and opinions regarding the sex trade.
If any member posts an opinion or story of an encounter with a provider that you disagree with based on personal experience, then post a rebuttal.
Isme, Fox, Rapid, Jardon, Lap, I apologize for the interruption. Please continue this fine discussion.
BTW, picked up a blockette tonight and had an awesome experience. Will provide details on the general reports board.
Safe hunting to all.

I have to go to Baltimore on business next month and will probably bring the SO. We spent a few nights in DC/Alexandria last year and I took her to a Bikini Club there (pretended I didn't know it was a Club, because it was called a "Grill" or something on the outside but I knew, hee hee). It was her first time in a club, and she really enjoyed it (which was great for me later) because it was so overall tame (bikini's/pasties, fun at the Bar, etc.).
Would Haven match this? I figure, it is always safe to bring a lady to a "no touch/lap dance" because of the low risk. Previous post says this is a no touch Club.
Any info would be appreciated. I can exchange all the horrible reports of Norfolk and other Tidewater area clubs if you would like (but there is really nothing to like!!).

Now in the old days, you could pull into the local pub, and find some honey sittin at the bar. she was available either lonely or a pro hustler. today, where are these fine ladies. i woul love to find a bar where you can actually find a hooker and go to notel. i always thought that the place next to tims would be good. in the old days, the bar next to the marylander was good too.
oh well. smiling fox on the lookout.

Posts: 257The Former Ceiling at Haven Place
HJ,
Just one square foot of that black ceiling with the little gold erotic images would be enough to bring it all back. I hope someone saved a square foot of it somewhere. It should be in a museum of the City of Baltimore.

Posts: 874I love Haven Place. I've been going there, off and on, for about 20 years. They have fixed it up a little, tearing the ceiling off a few years ago to leave the exposed beams, but that's about it. A place to have a cheap beer and watch a babe take her clothes off. What could be better?
Oh, and if you want to buy the lady a drink? Hold onto your hat....it costs the same as if you would have bought it for yourself!
Tony's, on the other hand, is quite a bit downscale, I'd say. The interior really needs some cleaning and some new fixtures, seats, etc would be good. You can get lappers at Tony's, which you can't get at Haven.

Yeah, I forgot Tony's, for a while it was my Last Stop on my Highlandtown Bar Crawls. It was a place where you could certainly drink on the Cheap, I knew Tony well and used to talk with him quite a bit and there were a couple of decent gals there some years ago but the last time I stopped there last summer it's gotten about as Crummy as you can get. I think one of his Sons runs it now.
Sherrie's on Pulaski has seen better days as well, Larry, the owner does nothing to improve the situation, the last time I saw any decent girls here was at least a year or two ago. Sherrie's certainly isn't worth the "Block" Prices they still charge but it was once upon a time. I used to stop in to say "Hi!" to the Barmaids Tippy and Faye. I'll show my age and tell you that I remember Faye when she used to dance at the Old "408" on the Block, she had Long Straight Hair down to her Ass!

Places like The Haven are few and far between. Seems like every time I find one and get comfortable, the schmuck owner decides to remodel and everything changes. When I first moved to Baltimore, I hung out at The Millstream. It was a fun place until the owner remodeled. Now it's a hustle club.
That's why I am not a regular at The Haven, for fear of the place changing. I pop in once a month or so and always have a good time. Hope it never changes.
Safe hunting to all.

Lap,
Thanks for the thumbnail history of strip clubs in the east end. I began exploring these clubs in the final days of Lucky Spirits, and I always loved that name still remember the thrill of actually finding it there on Haven St.
I am surprised you did not mention Tony's, which is in the same end of town on Monument and Kresson. When I first went there many years ago, they were a T bar, then they graduated to full nudity. I am not sure what the current state of undress is, but I like that bar because it is a kind of budget version of the block. I met some spectacularly beautiful dancers in there -- one Hungarian I'll never forget -- and some street quality ones as well. I never know what to expect in that place. I hope to drop back again and will report.
You filled in a piece of local history I have not found reported elsewhere.

Been hanging out here for at least 30 years off and on.
It's the LAST of the Old Go-Go Bars that you could once upon a time run up and down Eastern Ave in Highlandtown hitting 2 Beers here, 2 Beers there when you didn't have the Cash that weekend for the Block.
The Old Timers here if there are any will remember Fondly the Good Old Days where you could start out at one end of the Avenue and work your way to the other.
The "Red Garter" on Broadway which some of us Jokingly called the "Red Gutter" and is now the Ritz, to Boots' on Eastern & Washington, now Chubbies/Exotica where you went to make sure you got some Crud under your Fingernails as all of us should from time to time, then it was Mike's "Silver Dollar" where more of the Neighborhood Girls would strip for us and sometimes do More if you got to know them. Glava's Bar was always good for a Refill, though they always kept their Tops on there, most were Nice looking Gals. Then there was Stanley's "Red Room" in Greektown which to me was at one point the "Ultimate" Go-Go Bar, we knew Everyone in there, All the Girls, All their Stories and some of us were Lucky or Unlucky enough depending on your view to have some Relationships with some of them. Last but not Least was the Playpen referred by some of us as the "Pigpen" on O'Donnel St. down from O'Connors, who can forget the Times we had in those places?
Then we would go to "Lucky Spirits", Wally's place where all the Bikers hung out, but we never had a problem there as I guess we were All the same Rednecks, Damn they had some Fine Women there and finally Charlie's "'Haven Place".
The Haven is still the Same place it always has been, the Young Guys looking for Strip Clubs don't understand that these type of places always were BARS First and Strip Clubs Second, you Can't "Hang Out" in those other places like you can still do in the Haven Place, WHY? Because it's a BAR!!! Plain and Simple, it just has Better Scenery than most others.
Once upon a Time even "The Block" was also more Friendly to it's "Regulars" but that's another Story.
I'm NOT a Monger as those who post in the other areas, but I've spent my Whole Life here in Baltimore, for Better or Worse, since my 20's all the Girls I've Dated and had "Relationships" with over all the years have been Dancers, I don't know many "Regular" women, my Job and Lifestyle doesn't bring me in contact with such Women. I probably wouldn't know how to Deal with one if I did!
There have been Ups and Downs, times when things have been Unbelieveably Frustrating and there have been times that have Exceeded most peoples Wildest expectations.
But except for the Haven that I still keep going back to, things just aren't what they used to be.
Maybe I'll write a Book someday.
