What's your opinion on having a separate physical burner compared to using the app Burner?

Because you keep everything separate from your wife's phone. On the burner install the apps download pics of girls encrypt the burner, everything dies with the burner. You don't mix business with pleasure, your personal phone is your wife's phone, the burner with the apps, pics on it, that's your phone. If LE finds you with the burner they can't even break in the burner if it's encrypted. Highly recommending the pin/password to unlock the burner vs fingerprint or face recognition. I doubt it that they'll go that far in case your caught to force you to put your thumb to unlock the phone but at least you have a way out, I don't remember the code. I have read about cases where judges even forced defendants to unlock phones with the fingerprint. If all you have is a password/pin they can't force that out of you. I read they even used a deceased guy's thumb to unlock an Iphone so shit can get ugly fast. But that's a discussion beyond our scope and passions .

Buy a VISA / Master / whatever giftcard from store with cash and pay with that, I'm pretty sure you can pay with it online with a prepaid visa card. Haven't tried it though. If LE is your worry then you're fucked cause they track the shipping and all that crap. Doubt it that they'll go that far just to catch someone fucking some other someone. This is for the wife/gf situation not LE.

Why not just buy a sim card for 10 $?

Because you will have to refill every three months with $15 and over the course of a year you pay $60 plus the initial $10 and you still can't download pics because you don't have a phone. This way you get service for a year and a burner. If you use up all your credit you're fucked, either you reload the sim card or get another burner.

So, I was in a Uber in NYC, got out and realized I left my phone in the car. I pulled out my piece of shit TracFone and called myself. The driver heard the phone ring and answered it. We got together about a half hour later and I retrieved my civilian phone.

It was nice to have a burner when I was really stupid.
