That stadium should have been built down the street on the huge piece of land across from the outlet mall, enough room for parking, shops restaurants, a hotel etc. Along with the stadium, hell they probably could have built an NBA arena or MLB stadium.

That dirt lot was the best location to be honest because of the amount of empty acreage that could be built to suit. I have a personal feeling that the casino mafia had a lot of sway into the decision even if nobody will ever admit it.

Is not owned by Motel 6. It's operated under a license. A hotel management firm out of Texas bought the property less than a year ago for over $13 M. Not going anywhere.

It's kinda late for that. Dean Martin from Trop the Allegiant is a mess. I was 100% sure they were going to get rid of the Motel 6, that nasty ass Galaxy Motel and the businesses on that street to make room for parking and other stuff. I get that Motel 6 might have been hard since they are a corporation but the Galaxy? Until those dumps are gone, you are going to get that level of clientele there. But Davis has no $$, can you imagine if the Rams had moved here and Kronke built a stadium? He would have purchased everything within a 1/4 mile of that site. It's been 3 years and nothing on that street has changed, now the SB is here next year, what a waste. Yup I heard they want to clean up the image around that area. With the No-Tell Motels all along the road, and the lot lizards, with stadium right down the street, they want it cleaned up.

The people that own the land are hoping to build a basketball stadium & hotel on that empty piece of land between the Sahara hotel and the Fontain Bleau and hopefully get the NBA to give Vegas a new team. I don't know if it'll happen any time soon or if they'll have enough funding to complete the project. They've been trying to get it done for years.

Not going to happen. That dude is basically running a pyramid scheme.

I think I heard there was going to be a small hotel / casino built there, maybe by Stations Casinos group if I recall correctly. I knew www was going to be shut down, but seeing the whole demolition was still kinda surprising, as it's been there for so long. It's one less area for the SWs to work. The other side of the truck lot is also now restricted on the street itself. They have the entire street coned off on both sides and no parking allowed at all. I heard they had too many problems with the SWs and trucks and cars being parked there.

Correct, but Phil Ruffin who owns Circus Corcus, Treasure Island, and a lot of the adjacent land including the festival grounds has been working with the A's. The rumor I heard is that he would like to have a baseball stadium at or near the corner of LV Blvd and Sahara, either on the festival grounds or west of them. But unless the state and local government kicks in some cash it's not likely to happen.

The entire CC property is owned by CC hand has not been sold or transferred recently.

I wasn't even aware that Wild Wild West was closing. I stayed there last March. At the time it was the cheapest option near the Strip. It wasn't fancy and it was pretty dated. It was good enough for me. What happened? What is going in that spot? Is it because of road improvements and it would be too hard to get there and get around?

Some of the guys at our sports bar said the large lot in back of the Circus Circus was purchased for the baseball stadium. One guy works at Circus Circus and they are all excited about it.

CC is, was, and forever will be the DUMP of the Las Vegas Strip. There's no way in hell they'd ever get a baseball stadium! My bet is on the new casino and sports themed coliseum that they're going to be building on the north end of the strip. Now with that coming in The Fountaine Bleu and The Strat being fully remodelled and now getting the Atomic Range I can see the north end of the strip is going to be the new shit in 2 or 3 years and will be more popular then the same ole shit the last 10 years!

Last article I read which was last week says the A's are no longer talking to Circus Circus and are only talking with Bally's about the Tropicana location. They are also still in negotiations with the city of Oakland so everything is still just a maybe.
