A few things have changed since I posed this hypothetical question about two weeks ago. For one thing, the prevalence of COVID infection has increased in West Michigan. Just how much, we don't know because of government has bungled the production and distribution of test kits. There are also reports of people testing positive for COVID but not having any symptoms. Presumably they are still capable of infecting others. As a result, I would not recommend even a private appointment.

However, IF the tests become widely available and IF the tests were sensitive to early stage infections, then it might be possible for two people to both do a test and, if both results came back negative, then other intimate activities might be relatively safe from COVID. That is a lot of IFs and even then there would be some risk (from transmission via inanimate objects and from a person who was just exposed but does not yet test positive), but it is difficult to completely eliminate risk and still live an interesting life.

Have heard no health rules, that super cede that.
