Went to Cheetahs Saturday night around 9 pm. There was no one there so decided to come back later. Came back around 12 AM and there was still no one there. I was told the girls that the club doesn't really get busy until 2 AM - 5 AM because they serve alcohol past last call and it gets really lit after hours. I was already tired so I didn't really felt like staying that late to see if that is the case.

The club itself was pretty slow even at 12 AM on a Saturday night. There were probably like 10-15 girls working and only around 8 or so patrons sitting around. The girls and clientele are mostly black but there are some Latinas and possibly one Asian. Girls will not really walk around but some will dance at your table for a small tip. Some girls will come by and talk to you and the girls will sometimes give you their own prices for dance. I would say in the hour and a half we were there, maybe 5 girls walked up to us only (so less than half). The first girl we talked to (20 minutes into our visit) quoted us 8 minutes for $120. But the rest quoted us 10 minutes for $120. The stage dances didn't really start until 1 AM. And the DJ kept telling girls to sign in even at 1 AM. Another thing is that everyone smokes weed openly in this club. The patrons and the girls alike will light up a Joint / Blunt / etc and smoke it while walking around or sitting down.

The VIP rooms are pretty much in the open. There is a small stage room and in there there are small booths with sheer curtains as doors. You can see outside and people can see inside if they focus enough. So not much privacy in those rooms and probably not much can happen in there.

Dances are topless and dance mileage depend on the girls. The girl I got let me rub her over her panties.

Entry: $10 dollars (1 drink minimum at 9 PM but we didn't get the minimum requirement at 12 AM).

1 song dance - $50.

10 minute VIP - $120.

20 minute VIP - $200.

30 minute VIP - $300.

1 hour VIP - $500.

All and all, a decent time but prices are generally higher than other places. Some standouts in terms of girls. Kind of middle of the road overall.

I have been a regular at Silver Reign, would agree not the best bang for your buck. The tall latina day shift dancer I know very well is not mid 20's, and not "enhanced", so could be another day shift dancer. Prices are also slightly higher, $300 for five songs, $600 for 15 min, so a major rip off. Yes, benefits exist but way better options elsewhere if SC is the path you choose.

I've also had a girl tell me before I paid for the VIP, that she has strict rules -- so I didn't do that dance obviously.

500 is insane. That sounds like she doesn't do a ton of extras or just doesn't see any chemistry vibes.

Obviously there's no real science. But my current thoughts in the club these days are, if she flat out approaches you, she's probably trying to game you a bit and there's no vibes. Thinks you're a sucker and just wants the VIP money.

If you can find the girl who you can exchange some eyes with- like she may genuinely think you are good looking, and then you make the approach, you may find that she's lady in the streets, but in the VIP she's a freak in the sheets. And it's always good to do a 3 for 40 test drive in the regular lap dance area to see if there's some chemistry.

Later on, one just walked up to me and just looked me up and down and asked straight out if I wanted a dance. No name given, no asking my name. I did end up taking 2 girls to the VIP. One was foreign (want to say Columbian, but could have been from another country). Was fun and lots of touching but was pushy about tips. Wanted 500 for a HJ, I laughed and said I wasn't interested at 500, but then kept pestering me for tips as the dance went one. Second girl was American (Mia). Made all sorts of promises (mentioned loving to give BJs) but never did anything to suggest any compensation. Just seemed to like to grind against my leg and play with herself over her panties.

Any chance at real action there or is it just a dud location?

Rio is pretty similar to Synn COI in the way it operates. I would say the vibe was pretty subdued and not at all like the stories I have heard about KHVIII. Never been when it gets crowded and so it can be a little hectic when you're one of the only mopes in the joint and there's 10 or so dancers working. The VIP rooms are sorta ass. Only one of them has real privacy but I think the club knows what time it is so you're left alone in the other rooms.

I've spent a lot of time in the Rio VIPs LOL. I like Rio bc every girl I was interested in offered extras. I usually get the 30 min VIP for $180. Some of my favorites are:

Another lesson learned -- you can view the roll call for Rio and all the Synn properties ahead of time at OneGC's website. You can also sign up for a free account with whatever burner email addy you use to get free admission. The other great thing about the app, is you can see if there are any deals going on before you enter. Example of a "deal", might be "free entry before 2 pm" or "$80 10 min VIPs all night".

I concur with these accurate reports on Rio; good job guys. I go day shifts and there's rarely more than 3-4 customers, with 5-6 girls. No AA shortage in the day, about 50/50 with the Latinas.

Note that Synn clubs (Rio is one) rarely honor "free admission" passes if there are daily specials in effect that day. And always count your change from the waitresses. Rio is less of a clip joint than Synn COI, but they still pull the nickel & dime shit if you aren't paying attention. Or maybe it's just me haha.

I always bring my own hats; those cheap red ones from 99 Cents Only that the girls seem to supply are just too tight & non-slippery. Just be sure to dispose of your trash appropriately, leave no evidence behind.

Wow. That place has been there since the 1970's at least. It was the first club I ever went to, back in the early '80's. I hope it stays a strip club with the new owners. Back when I first went, the dancers wore pasties and costumes (and it was more of a cabaret club. They had an emcee who went on stage and told jokes, kind of like a vaudeville set. He would introduce the dancers, and they would come out and do routines, and spin the tassels on their pasties and stuff like that.

I was a mere pup. A kind dancer sat next to me and told me how strip clubs worked, and how I needed to put a dollar on the stage for every song. She told me how I needed to tip the waitress for bringing me an expensive Coke. (They also had alcohol, but I didn't have enough money with me for that.) She spent about 15 minutes explaining to me everything I needed to know, and then she went on stage, and I tipped her my last $3. (I had only brought about $20, and that was all I had left after the $10 cover and drink.) Then I left, and didn't return for over 20 years, and by then it had changed, a lot. (Becoming a nude club, for one.).

I didn't go back the the Body Shop, because shortly thereafter, I discovered a club called '77 Sunset Strip, where the dancers also had costumes and did routines, but they also got naked. I still have a coupon from that club! (See photo. Yes, I am fuckin' old, and kind of a hoarder.) I don't know when it closed. Those two clubs started me on my path of joyous depravity that has continued mostly unabated for 40 years.

Jesus. That is kind of pathetic. I can remember when there was an actual brothel in North Hollywood, literally a block away from the LAPD station off Lankershim.

From the Body Shop and Sunset Strip, it was Odd Ball (I think back then it was 8 Ball), and Star Garden, and all of the other ancient clubs in LA and the Valley. And then lap dances, alt. Sex. Strip-clubs, TUSCL, and ZBone really got things going in the 1990's, when we had the Internet. And now, I'm here, on this wild, weird, wonderful site, where reading about the closing of a club you first visited 40 years ago can set off a rush of memories and emotions that would make Proust proud.
