Yup dangerboy, that's exactly what I thought about him all those years ago. Stuck married to that ugly lady, and can't go kb / strip bars because of his religious guilt. So he going take away everybody elses fun and campaign against the hostess / strip bars. Fuckin loser! Good he went jail and got disbarred and stuck with that uggalee wife!

He looks like the sort of sad married guy who's trapped in a marriage with a wife that he doesn't even love that would frequent the very places he tried to shut down. More so now, I'd imagIne and good riddance.

He was released more than a decade ago. He was also disbarred as a lawyer. The last news about him (years ago) that I saw reported that he was in Texas helping to operate an antiques and collectibles business with his wife.

The last time I was there, it was almost exactly as you described. Sat at the bar drinking my drink, waiting for something exciting to happen. Nothing exciting ever happened. Sad!

The other evening, I was in the area of Club Sundance. I had not been in there in ages, so I figured, why not. I went in thru the backdoor. There was one woman (short hair) getting a massage from a guy in the booth. Another woman, I suspect the owner was in the same booth. At the bar, there was 2 guys drinking and the female bartender sitting and watching TV. I sat at the bar and ordered a beer. The bartender got the beer and my change and just went back to watching. There were no dancers. My my, this place has gone down the drain into oblivion. Can anyone tell me why would a guy want to go into this place and spend money? One woman (not counting owner & bartender) and nothing else, am I missing anything of this place?

His prison term was only 4 years and he was sentenced in 2001. Where is Mirikitani now?

Yeah that ass hole ruined the strip club action on the island, when he introduced legislation to ban lap dances, a lot of the clubs closed down soon after.

My understanding is that lapdancing is illegal, but it is enforced by the city, Liquor commission, and so bars that don't serve liquor are not checked on. Liquor commission guys aren't even allowed to go in even if they know there's alcohol being served. But HPD and Vice can coordinate undercover raids, I think there was a big one at Hawaii by Night a couple years ago. Dancers got charged with prostitution and mama didn't bail them out. Wouldn't be surprised if Ballas is next, with all the bad stuff going on there nowadays. One of the bouncers got jumped at the end of the night and had his teeth knocked out. I guess they don't have a dental plan because there's a gofundme for his bills.

It depends too on what you would constitute as lap dancing. Anything with contact yes is deemed as prostitution. However the non alcoholic places are allowed to have a private dance area within the bar oppose to alcohol establishments literally would need pretty much a separate room. Where there's private dancing, anything is possible. Thing is there's not much money to be made for the owner at these non alcohol bars besides steep cover charge. So that's really why we don't have much of these type of establishments anymore.

Regardless of whether alcohol is being served, lap dances that involve "sexual contact" for money are illegal under Hawaii state law and may be prosecuted as prostitution. Sexual contact is defined to include touching "of the sexual or other intimate parts" of the customer by the dancer (or of the dancer by the customer), "whether directly or through the clothing or other material intended to cover the sexual or other intimate parts".

Yes, it's sad but true, the Hawaii government even has the power to criminalize a consenting adult woman from earning money by rubbing on a consenting adult man's weenie through his clothing.

Check out Ballerinas if you want a great lap dance from a young hotttie. BYOB, avoid the late night hours and its ok. Otherwise get plenty young punks. Me and my friends go there frequently.
