Blossom doesn't keep the data or distribute it (first thing I asked). I think other clubs should start doing it, too because it just adds more protection to the guys just trying to have a good time.

You can't be serious. There is no good reason to swipe an I'd with all sorts of identifying information that could come back to bite. You mean to tell me some club in Waipahu of all places has secure data storage? If they don't keep the data then how will they know to 86 a guy six months from now? This makes no sense what so ever. With all the sex victim crazies running around it's simply not worth the risk of having your info stored at a strip club of all places. All it takes is one savvy hacker to steal it and all hell will break loose.

I wasn't there that night, but did visit Blossom a couple of times last week. The info I gathered concurs with SIckWilli, the shooting was a random thing that just happened to be on the Waipahu Street side of the club. Both guys involved were not inside the club, they just happened to be walking on same side of the street when the incident occurred. This incident has not prevented me from going, as I know this is probably the safest strip club on the island. Either them or 939, but Blossom is closer and more fun.

As far as the I'd check thing, it was instituted a week before the shooting. It mainly serves as a deterrent to keep the troublemakers out. If for some reason there is a incident inside the club it makes it more easy to 86 the instigator and keep him from returning. Normal people don't have to worry about the checker, Blossom doesn't keep the data or distribute it (first thing I asked). I think other clubs should start doing it, too because it just adds more protection to the guys just trying to have a good time.

Good points and insights, thanks. Agreed, it is a fun club and I have always felt safe. These new security measures should help keep the peace. The surrounding neighborhood does seem a bit suspect, but Blossom has a parking lot. I will also continue to go to Blossom.

Shooting had nothing to do with the club. I was told it was a homeless guy killing another homeless guy with a bike. News report made it look like it was club related by showing all angles of the club. The club was the one that called HPD. More sensational to use the club as a prop.

A friend and I stopped by on the day before this shooting. Club Rose is a great little hole in the wall with a few cute girls and a good vibe (IMHO). My friend pointed out to me that the new security approach for Club Rose was to scan the driver license prior to entry. If this would have happened on the day we were there, it is possible we may have been questioned by police as there was evidence that we were in the neighborhood? My friend is a married, professional person and this made him uncomfortable. I am all about having security, it is good for all customers and employees. Does anyone have any insights to this? We we subject to police questioning as innocent customers of a nearby business if we were at Club Rose on the night of the shooting?

When you say "scan the driver license prior to entry," do you mean scan with a device? I haven't been there in a long time but I do remember security asking for I'd and just looking at it for a few seconds. If they're actually using a machine now, then maybe yes if the shooting occurred inside the club and there was evidence that you both were there. But like another monger said, I too heard it wasn't in the club, it happened outside with some homeless people.

I've been here over 20 years and I can't recall a time where there has been so many gun killings.

It could be that I'm wrong about that but essentially you said you think there is more gun violence because there are more black guys. And you used a word that Urban Dictionary defines as;
