Noticed that LAP (off of Kapiolani, next to Akasaka sushi and across from Femme Nu), changed its name or closed it's now Club Happy Nites.

After our monthly outing, my golf club usually goes to Wave in Kalihi or Camelot. Only problem is no girls in afternoon. Good house pupus but wanted fo scope young girls. One of the boys knows the owner and the manager at 939 so about 6 of us went down about 730 pm. Got the and bouncer informed us no cover charge before 8. Cool. One of my friends was talking to a smoking hot Romanian named Evelyn. Other guys were hanging with bartender Donna, a cute Korean. We liked the variety of girls. Stayed until about 11. Will come back after May's golf outing!

Great memory Incogfilipino! Thanks, yes it was Sahara. Back then, the bars were still running ads in the sports section, especially everytime the bar name / ownership would change. I used to love those bar ads. That was how we found out about new places back then. Nevah have this USASG!

Club Pearl was the club on base that used to have dancing on the weekends. They closed at 2 AM.

There was another Club at the Marine Barracks that had strippers from about lunchtime. Guys used to go there and not come back to work. They used to drink to midnight then sleep in their car until morning, and go to work.
You could tell who the alkys were, because they just plain stank.
Marine Barracks Club closed down because, the wives complained that their husbands wern't coming home.

So I recall my older friend who mentioned that he used to work for the shipyard on base and there used to be a bar / club somewhere on base that workers would go to after work and then go to work from there the next day. Any old timers here that can confirm that? Those must've been the days.
