Wow, I grew up in town and remember all those clubs.

Me and my friends use to hang out at Hawaiian Brians and couple times we use to sneak a peek in Femnu. That was back in my high school days at Roosevelt c / o 93.

Kinda sad to watch everything disappear that you grew up seeing. From Papakolea to Waikiki and watching all the changes going on, times are not what it use to be.

We're not that far apart in terms of age. Funny story a guy I knew in high school claimed he could get us into Femme Nu. We were 17. I called BS. We piled into my dad's car that Friday and went to Femme Nu. Old guy was working the door, he looked at our IDs and said we’re under 21 so we couldn't drink and let us in. No one was more surprised than I was that it we got in, but apparently that old guy was worse at math than I was.

I guess you could say those were the first steps in my road to perdition.

Also: a guy I went to high school with worked the door at Club Rose. I was maybe 18 or 19 at the time. We recognized each other, talked and around closing he asked if I wanted to come along with them to Pure Platinum (later Deja Vu) in Waikiki. Rose closed at 2 am and Pure Platinum closed at 4 (I believe it was the first and only liquor license of its kind the liquor commission issued for a strip bar; all the other clubs had to close at 2).

Pure Platinum was an over 21 club and I didn't have a fake I'd at the time. But since I was with the Club Rose guys, they just waved me in after a few of them showed their liquor commission cards.

Truly good times back then.

Nothing makes you more dated that when you say, "Hey, you really missed out. This place was a lot better back in my day. " The thing is, that's true of the strip club scene in Honolulu. Exotic Nights, The Wild Horse, Paradise Island, the smaller clubs off of Keeaumoku, are gone. Whenever I walk into 939, I start thinking about Club Rose and how that's only thin thing that probably remains from those days is the pole on the stage by the DJ booth

I haven't been around that long to experience all those strip clubs. Hear stories of the past and sounds like I missed out. But I know what you're saying. Got to be here during peak AMP. Empire. Rejuve. RIP. Not sure if things will be like that again. I've learned that get you action in while the action is good. Good action doesn't last forever only a matter of time before it gets shut down. Times change we got to adapt to the new opportunities.

Everything you write is spot on, except I don't think yuni's son was a screw up at all, he was pretty cool to customers, and the dancers liked him too. His failing was marrying a korean girl who basically forced him to give up the life. He bought new eagle over on nimitz and now lives a regular life. I'm sure he still riminisces about the good old days just like you.

I've heard conflicting things. To be fair, I didn't know the guy so you may be right.

That being said, that has to be some amazing pussy to get a guy to leave owning / managing one of the best strip clubs on the island at the time. But I hear love makes guys do dumb things.

Very sad. Had many good times there, dated a few dancers and just messed around with a few more. What's crazy is that you can't find anything about that kid that got shot there back in the early '90's (the DJ at Blossoms remembers he was working at Femme Nu that night).

Lately it's been kind of sad whenever I go there. The dancers don't even try anymore and, let's face it, they're nowhere near as hot as the girls that used to dance there back in the day. It's amazing how much the girls used to make, and the peanuts they dance for now, then hear about them talk about their day job. But again, the girls aren't as hot as back in the day.

Yuni seems to be crazier each time I see her and she gets more aggressive with pushing me to to buy a drink with her girls. Funny though, she always remembers me and talks to me. Is it me, or do you think her kid was a fucking idiot for not being able to make the club work when he took it over?

Back when Hubba Hubba was still open on Hotel Street, they tried bringing in features in the '90's. I think Radio Free Hawaii did a live broadcast from there when Selena Steele was dancing there. I meant to see her, but missed her show. I just remember that Hubba Hubba must have been an amazing place, but I missed it and now I was seeing a strip club in its final days. It was like visiting an aunt who used to be rich, but the money dried up a long time ago and now everything was decaying.

(And the way the massage parlors are going, it's going to be true for them as well.).

Thought that place shut down.

The kuhio location shut down last year and it reopened by the DFS galleria. Way to small, like a hallway. Its byob and lapdnaces start at 40. Some young ones, but most of the girls are popolo and / or managed. Takeout available, but not worth the risk of getting jumped or robbed at gunpoint after hours. Avoid the mcdonalds around the corner. Always lots of punks there, causing trouble. A few SWs hang out there, and mahus are across the street. Waikiki just isn't the same anymore.

Ok so quick question but has anyone ever been to Club Sundance? Looked it up on Google Maps and doesn't sound to good. Not sure if its really a strip club too. Just wondering cause I keep getting a message to visit this place but dunno if its worth it. Any info will be much appreciated.

Check out the Vietnamese bar thread, posts 5629 and 5630. Talks about two former Cache girls now working there. Tried Sundance a few years back. Major upsell, guy kept interrupting us for more drinks. Only got a HJ, very expensive. Sounds better now. Hopefully under new management. Maybe play is more affordable. Maybe they need to know you first?

Was wondering what the strip club etiquette was like here.

How handsy you can be when tipping etc. Where I'm from alot of wondering is allowed even at the bar so to avoid being kicked out of places If someone could give me the do's and do not's I'd appreciate it.
