Keyword search "Mexican cartel" + "scam" + "death threat" + "reddit" and read all about the nightmares some mongers have fallen for. I couldn't read anymore of them after the one where some monger sent over $50,000 to these very convincing a-holes. They are able to obtain (sometimes even from burner phones) your family's names, photos, addresses, and their death threat scripts are impressively realistic sounding; like something that would make Scarface fucking blush. Imagine if you are a happily (more or less) married monger who was drunk texted some hoes one night and you wake up the next morning hungover not thinking clearly and you start getting very realistic sounding death threat texts first thing as you're waking up. Shit like "I'm going to fucking gut your wife and kids while you fucking watch if you don't pay the fuck up right now gotdamnit! Complete with photos, names, everything personal about you and your family's life. The whole scam would actually make a great thesis for Sociology PhD.

Obviously the best thing to do if you get one of these creatures calling / texting you is to not send them any $$, tell them you are reporting them to the police / FBI (and actually do report them), and then block all there numbers. Do be wary of any local police department that seems extra interested in your situation when you report it to them, especially if they have a wokeness vibe about them. As long as you don't specifically tell the police you paid $$ for sex they will most likely move on as they have much bigger crimes to deal with these days.

Another newer version scam involves the perps using voice AI to mimic your family member's voice (s) who are in 'dire straits' and need your $$$ immediately. With this one simply ask a few questions that only your family member (s) would know until it becomes clear it is AI; then follow the same report / block protocols.
How would you turn this into a sociology PhD thesis? How idiots fall for the old cartel you owe me 50 k trick LOL na I understand people's reason why. I'm sure if they did that to me I would want to react in the same way, except I don't have 50 k to be throwing around, sorry mom and pops.

It is a very common lucrative scam that the perps have perfected since it started

Plenty of opportunities for marketers and others to buy cell phone numbers and associated addresses. No reason to think that scammers wouldn't also want to buy personally identifiable information and use it for nefarious purposes.

Like others, my burner occasionally receives similar messages. And I've safely ignored them for years.
I had one from seeking, yes seeking, try this. Claiming she was going to tell my employer or whom she though was my employer) I was paying for sex. LOL.

Keep your info personal. We don't like to hear it, but SB's have pimps and gangsters (puke in my mouth) behind them. They are moving into the sugar game for scams.

They may even see you and try to Epstein yo azz!

Be careful boys. We are targets!

And the woke authorities would love nothing more than to bust men!

    It's probably not personal

Which parlor (s) did you text for their address? Asking because guys might want to skip it if crap like this happens as a result.

Your best bet is to ignore and block all unknown #s and hope this blows over and they move on. Hopefully you're not married because if they knew that they'd really have you by the balls. I would also recommend strapping up if you aren't already just in case. You never know how crazy some of these people are.

Think of it this way, seeing an escort at very most is a misdemeanor. What they are doing is felony. If you feel like you have to reply to them then you can reply that you will go to police and report them, that they are doing a felony and they are allegedly saying you did is at most a misdemeanor. I'm pretty sure they will stop bothering you.

Yeh it's a scam. You can ignore it. I use a burner and they got nothing on it so I got a generic "we know your location and name, and we know your family members".

Joke on them I've got literally no family alive so I knew immediately that it was a scam.

Nope. But assuming the name and home address were correct? If so, yeah that is scary. I would ofcourse just completely ignore it and Definitely not respond to the message. Would mark the message as spam and block the number. It is definetly some scam and the fact that they already have your name and home address is already troubling.
