I have been thinking for some time about how to raise awareness of this forum among the casual mongers. I can't help but think that there are some girls we need to warn everyone about (drive out of town) and others that we should reward with our recommendations, (really like the top of the Upstate lists from our very own Upstate101, great job my friend). But guys who just jump on BP and don't know how to protect themselves from the scams, they give all the good ones a bad name. Lets face LEO already knows about it so we aren't spilling any beans. Just want some ideas on how to raise awareness.

Couple benefits I could think of:

1 more intel for everyone.

2 less scams (would be nice if Greenville got a rep and the bad ones just stayed away)

3 increased business for the good ones.

Feel free to let me know if this is a really stupid idea.

I think it's a good idea. I have thought for awhile there has to be a better way to structure the hobby, although I haven't really figured out what that is yet.

There is still a pretty good network of UTR (non-pro) play in the Upstate as well as other cities in the Carolina. I get referrals all the time from a few former members of this board. I also stay in touch with members / former members in surrrounding areas and other states I've lived and / or worked in. They will let me know if someone is heading my way as I do the same for them.

And then there's the girls themselves who share info about some of their friends or acquaintances who may need an intro into the biz or simply need a little financial assistance on the side.

So, there is a network out there that goes beyond the chatlines and "wanted" boards. It may or may not be bigger / more popular in some cities versus others. But it does exist, even in the Upstate. It simply depends on how much information the girls want shared about themselves and to whom they they want their information shared with.

In the few short months I've been a hobbyist, I've noticed a common thread among the ladies that we love to visit. They like to be treated with respect and dignity. Personally, I don't really care if a visit leads to something between consenting adults. I like to take the time and get to know the lady I am visiting and make sure we are both comfortable with each other. Maybe I am a different breed of hobbyist, but being different seems to be appreciated by my new friends. I try to show them the same courtesy as I expect of them. It pays off to keep the ladies happy and if being a little more courteous helps keep them happy, then thats what we should give them. We're all adults here, and guys, I know when we go give money to spend an hour or more with the ladies, we expect certain things to happen. I have a couple of new friends that I talk to outside of the hobby that say they get tired of the same old thing of guys calling and being vulgar or rude or showing up and being a complete a$$hole because they want a discount or asking for services that aren't in the comfort zone of the provider. They are people just like we are, guys. Fellow humans with feelings and emotions. Treat them as such.

Ah my friend, not out of place at all. For me, I look for great service and someone that I click with. There has been several ladies that done everything right and provided a great service however, our personalities did not meet up.

Never understood why some the first thing out of some clients mouth is can you do it for less! If she does, the first thing that is going to be cut is your service! Why would a hobbyist want to "shoot themselves in foot" before they even get in the door? Pay the ladies freaking donation! Or call a cheaper one. Treat her with a little respect! Or find someone on the corner. You would be amazed at the different kind of service you will receive from a lady, or has been my experience anyway.

If the service sucks because she is a lousy provider or has a bad attitude, then post up so the rest of us can avoid it. I simply stated that these girls are people too, and should be treated as such. I understand your point of view. If the provider is rude when you get there, take your money and run. If she is rude or disrespectful after the fact, then live and learn and warn the rest of us. It was just food for thought. Not my intention to stir up a great debate.

That's all well and good, but there is a good bit of lack of respect coming from the providers' end. Just sift through some of these threads and you will find a lot of evidence. I was very active for several years, but I have not participated for the time being, because frankly the service is lousy. I don't expect them to jump through hoops for me, but do expect them to do the job they are supposed to do. If I go to the doctor, I expect him to give me his full attention during the appointment, and I expect him to do a thorough job. Same with providers. By that same token, I don't feel I should have to be all buddy-buddy with the doctor to get adequate service. I deserve that just by virtue of being a patient. Yes, I should act respectful on my end, but I don't have to go over and above. I guess the best analogy is with a cruise ship. The crew is there to see to it that I have a good time, not the other way around. That's their job.

I agree with you Kiber, the pool is essentially non-existant around here. I have attempted this very thing and have had absolutely no takers. Hell, I have not even had spam replies. However, I did get lucky on Vibeline back in April. That is the only non-pro experience I've had.

I would like to direct your attention to the Non=Pro threads on the Los Angeles and Orange County, Cal boards. Not only is this very entertaining reading, bit it raises the question of whether a similar approach would work in the Greenville-Spartanburg area. Is this something that any of you has ever tried? If so, how did you go about it, and how successful was it?

Some of us here in GVL have tried that route and had some success. However, the pool is so much smaller here than in LA, non pro's are much harder to come by. I probably wouldn't waste time attempting an organized effort like the NP thread in LA is doing here in small town GVL but feel free to try yourself and see how it goes.

This is not out of place, in fact I wish it was more the norm. Yes we all hobby for a "end result" but you are so right. Treat these ladies with the respect that they deserve! There are some cold self centered people in this world for sure, I'm glad to see guys with your attitude.



I've been in this "hobby" for several years and have met some awesome people. My best piece of advice is be there friend if they want one but just don't fall in love. But I agree with you 100%.

While I agree every lady needs to be treated with 100% respect, I for one really don't want to get to know any of them. I am in this hobby for one reason only. I did start to get kind of get friendly and got to know one provider and when the going got tough, she wanted to borrow money. Unfortunately, that was not going to happen. I don't mean to sound cold but as I stated – I have been in this hobby for years for one reason and it sure isn't to sit in a hotel room listening to somebody tell me their problems. I have to admit – this is one GREAT hobby!
