Sites like shagsafely.com that ask for a cc# but say they won't charge sound like scams, but I don't know what the scam could be, and if they do what they say, it doesn't seem like a bad deal. Does anyone have information on these sites?

Thanks for the compliments, Pitt. I have no arguments with the way you monger. The landscape is what it is. Pre-internet days, I used The Reader to find a number of gems. It just seems that providers on CL are a lot less trustworthy. Perhaps it's just a volume thing.

What I'm lamenting is the lack of action on the streets. There's a market out there. Guys like me who like to find action; to give and get the look, to make the pickup, to find a secluded spot. It surprises me that NO ONE is out there doing business. A reasonably attractive girl (who doesn't have to dress trashy, casual is fine) should do great if she knows how to make eye contact and be discrete. Even the number of beasts isn't what I expect it to be. It's not Uncle Leo that's keeping it quiet. I have no idea why it's as quiet as it is.

FB, nice analysis. Crack definitely lowered the quality, but the other thing to keep in mind is that the Internet (not just CL) increased Demand.

Hear me out. Back in the pre-internet days, all we had were the streets, and newspapers like the Reader (Boston Phoenix, Creative Loafing in Atlanta, etc). There are a TON of guys like me who would NEVER hit the streets. If it weren't for the 'net, I wouldn't monger, period. The 'net allowed a proliferation of guys like me to get in the game. We can basically "shop at home." And with that flexibility comes a cost - increased prices. That's a price I'm willing to pay, because the alternative (streets only) is not an option.

No, they can't. What I was talking about was the Lincoln Ave. scene back in the late '80s/early 90's. When beautiful SWs were always around somewhere.

Crack permanently altered the SW landscape, even more than HIV/AIDS. Drugs were never a problem before (I'm not naive enough to believe they weren't a factor), but the proliferation of crack changed all that. Pretty girls who were (relatively) clean got hooked and their looks deteriorated rapidly. You know what I mean. Soon, most of the girls out had the crack ***** face, as if they were hit flush with a sledgehammer.

Whenever I've used CL to try and satisfy my urges, I've always been burned, with the exceptions of the Asian apartments and AMPs. Never again.

Using a CL provider takes away the most important thing from a monger, imo. Control. I want to be in control of the situation as much as possible; drive to a spot of MY choosing, going to a motel that I'M comfortable with. With CL providers, you have virtually no control. You're going to a place of THEIR choosing that you aren't familiar with. Plus you don't know who else is lurking around. No thanks.

I would think that with the economy in the state it's in, that we would have seen an increase in quantity AND quality of SWs in the last few months. Instead, the north side has been bone dry. All the action seems to be in the 47th/S. Cicero/Midway areas, and drugs seem to be a huge issue with those girls.

The old days are gone, and they ain't coming back. I've accepted it, but it doesn't mean that I have to like it.

This was real at one point. I was told by a fellow monger that cristal (with an I), stole from jimmyjamesx, but he fucked up and found the phone in his car a couple of days later. Pardon me for believing a fellow monger.

I remember two girls the most. One was a bleach blonde (platinum; almost white) with short, spiked hair who looked like Annie Lennox and liked to wear dark green tops. She told me she also worked around Clark and Touhy. I believe she lived around there as I dropped her off there once. Great body.

The other was this tall (5'9"+) buxom brunette who was out almost every night. She looked like a taller, curvier Katy Perry. Great dresser. Seemed to enjoy what she was doing. After awhile, she started charging more than I was willing to pay. If I had known the scene was going to detiorate into what it is today, I would have dated her a LOT more often.

The Riverside was hands down the nastiest..lol..
The Rio was pretty nice for privacy. I agree the girls were at least 7 and up. Many looked like average high schoolers.
And yes the Patio had a very creepy vibe to it. Kind of out of the way.
Anyone remember any of the girls ? There was always at least 6-9 of them out any given night in the late 80's early 90's.

Memories!!! Wow! A lot of those hotels have bitten the dust. I've done stuff in every one of them, and some that weren't even listed. My favorite place was the Spa. It was also the favorite of a lot of bands that were touring. If they played one of the smaller venues in town (Metro, Riviera, e.g.), chances are they stayed at the Spa. I don't like the Patio, even though it's a great setup. Just never got good vibes there.

A police station is where the Spa used to be, a library is where the Acres was, a park fountain is where the Riverside was, the Lincoln Motel (unsure of the name, on the NW corner of Lincoln and Sacramento) and the Stars have been torn down, the Tip Top is now called River Park Motel.

When you think about it, it's pretty amazing that so many of them are still in business. Especially now that SW activity is almost non-existent. The Riverside parking lot and in front of the Rio were the two best spots in the area to find action. Plus the SWs were good looking; 7s at worst. Not like today, where if you find a 5, you've got a keeper.

During the 1995 extreme heat wave I lived in the second story of a two flat not far away from Lincoln Ave. The power was out in our neighborhood and it was unbearable to be inside. I called a couple of friends around 9 p.m. but couldn't find anywhere cool to spend the night.

The power and air conditioning were still on in the Lincoln Ave. motels, so I stopped at three to see if they had a room. All were booked up. At the Patio, there were several cars lined up with what looked like streetwalkers waiting while their "dates" tried to locate rooms. In one, a young woman sat with her arms crossed and looking pissed off while her date tried to find a place where they could complete their business. He probably never did, because the rooms were taken by refugees from the heat wave and power failure.

But, of course. I was on a legitimate date and wound up at the Spa. Alcohol does funny things, what can I say? The cleaning lady was cleaning the room when we walked in, apparently she was tidying up due to someone needing the room for a short time prior to our arrival.
