You are 100% correct. When my office was in the Merchandise Mart, I used to walk from Union Station. There was a guy that panhandled at the Canal and Madison St. Bridge. Imo I know that area really well and can tell you first hand that bike cops from the 1st 2nd shift hang at that very spot as I used to bum around with some of them when I had my crib in west loop. Actually I went by as late as today and went past 1 at 18th and state as well as 6 I believe (could have that number wrong) in bridgeport on halsted in the 30's I believe. Anyway the migrants are allowed to hang in front of both cop shops and it is a f**king mess. I really feel for these people in that what they are going to do when the snow and cold hits just no clue. There are single beds and other furniture leaned up against the station. I mean I know the officers et al use their parking lot to the west off 18th, however it has to be difficult for them at the moment. The one in bridgeport was not as populated but still it was way over bad. I slowed way way down by both locations on the way to back of the yards as literally there are people everywhere on both sides of the street. For what we do here I mean I hope a possible bust doesn't also include something crazy like interfering with police business or a hate crime or whatever? Just saying right now the city is f**ked up so I would steer clear of that eliment. These people don't even know what is happening imo. It could go south very fast for any of us.
