ACTUALLY, I hate to disagree with you. BUT, in certain circumstances, that can be a much bigger crime than mongering. As for the undercover posting/ ID badge; think about this part. No way and undercover gives out his badge# to a deep undercover drug deal. There would be ZERO busts if that were true; just ask everyone there before any drug interaction.

You are correct in saying this, but a little paranoid. A cop is not going to get in your car. There is to much liability to the department if they were to get in. For example, who is to say you would not take off at a high rate of speed and get into a wreck. Let alone have a hidden weapon. Once they are in the car, our natural instinct is to still worry that they may be LE but that should not be the case. I worry more about her boyfriend following me to attempt a robbery than anything else after they have entered my vehicle.

I would imagine common "sting" operations at least audio if not video tape the matter. They go into hiding so now they can't work the stroll to make the money to pay their debt. The only logical thing to do at this point is get the hell out of the hood and go back home, but they won't leave the hood because that's where the drugs are. At this point it's only a matter of time till they end up severely beaten or dead.

Please understand, I'm not trying to justify what happened to Melissa. It was a terrible thing. I'm just saying it is inevitable once a drug habit gets completely out of control. I've known Melissa for almost three years and in that time I've seen her go down hill slowly but steadily. She would make occasional attempts to improve her situation and get away from the worst of it, but she would never make a clean break and it would never last. It's really a shame because she was an intelligent person with abilities and potential. She always said she loved the street lifestyle but in the end it got the better of her. RIP.

Belleville police ask for help finding woman
She has been missing since Oct. 28

Belleville police on Sunday asked for the public's help in locating a woman who has been missing since October.

Janet Tillman, 50, of the 9500 block of West Main Street in Belleville, was last seen on Oct. 28.

"She was last seen getting picked up by an individual in East St. Louis and hasn't been seen since," said Detective Marvin Henderson.

Tillman's family reported her missing on Nov. 5. Henderson said Tillman used to have frequent contact with her family.

"She stayed in contact with the family very well," Henderson said. "Never missed a birthday, never missed a holiday."

Tillman was last seen in the area of Ninth Street and Exchange Avenue. Henderson said Tillman also was known to frequent a truck stop in Madison.

Tillman is a black woman with medium skin tone; 5 feet, 7 inches tall; 185 pounds; and wears glasses. She has scars on her neck and her left eyebrow.

Police asked that anyone with information call the Belleville Police Department at 234-1218.
