Dawgins is spot on. You did good by reaching out for help but this kind of situation needs nothing more than minimal facts and a request for private message follow-up.

    Get a lawyer

    Gold club?

Damn man. That sounds like the old gold club. Which club was it?

A word of warning to everyone. Never use a cc at a strip club, never ever.

When they follow up with questions, "I believe that the privacy of medical conditions causing diminished mental capacity is protected by law" . If they press HARD for details, "I may need to consult my attorney on that and get back to you".

Now for the club. First, name them and warn the community. That sort of shady stuff is common, but be careful about defemation, as you may be going to court eventually. Just say, "xyz club charged $xyz dollars to my amex that I don't recall authorizing".

Finally, when relating to the club, you might be able to negotiate. "Look, I don't want the hassle of taking this up with the credit card companies, city counsel, and law enforcement. Can we just agree to settle at $1500 and move on?" Good luck!
Thanks this is good advice. I was leaning towards telling Amex that they wouldn't let me leave without agreeing to these charges but not sure how that would go down. This place is actually in Scottsdale AZ not ATL. Perhaps I should've gone to that forum to get some help. It's called Dream Palace and apparently is known for this kind of stuff. I, not being a local, had no clue and went there with some buddies. My buddies also got scammed as well but not to the same extent as me. As for settling with them directly, I’m not sure that’ll work given the paperwork, etc. I feel like they would be willing to take the risk in order to cash in on 15k.

Not a lawyer but I would Google it and see what legal precedent there might be. In some states clubs cannot serve patrons that are obviously intoxicated. It's an old scam for sure. 15 K is large enough to be a pain in your ass and raise some eyebrows but it's going to cost you additional funds to pay a lawyer to pursue it. I would ask about witnesses but if you had anyone with you they would have stopped this before it occurred. It does not sound good but let us know if you make any headway. Sounds like you are not a regular at this club. The dancers that I frequent would run this type of a game on me. FWIW I only drink water when I visit. I start with the alcohol after I am done with the women. Good luck.

I remember signing paperwork and then taking pictures. Is there any way I can dispute this? I wouldn't have spent this amount of I was sober but there were some predatory practices going on. If it makes it any better, Amex was the card I used. Please let me know if there's something I can do. I genuinely felt pressured to make these charges. They took my phone and wallet in the back room and I felt trapped while there. Idk these things make it any better but hopefully they do.
