I stopped by this place after work and had a similar experience. The mamasan's attitude was enough for me to leave. The girls were decent enough, but looked miserable to be there.

He stopped by Empire spa just west of union Square and was greeted by a very pushy and rude mamasan. Quoted 70 for 35 min (odd) and was pushed to choose girls, sounds like almost yelled at IMHO. Mamasan kept calling him and a few other patrons "poor" in Chinese, very derogatory attitude. He didn't like the choices, no one was really smiling, and my buddy doesn't get off on sadism so he turned around and saved a few coin. More for the Witcher it seems.

He adds that there were about 5 girls when he went in late evening, ages ranging from late 20's to late 30's. Some clearly had lots of work done. Some seemed Chinese, others were definitely south Asian, the rest were ambiguous.

They aren't the best facility but that's odd behavior. I've seen this happen when people who appeared to be A) under some kind of influence or B) lollygagging around where at play but if you weren't either and you weren't trying to haggle a better price. I can't imagine what went so wrong. Because even when closing they rush you in and out in a semi polite manner.

OK, so I TOFTT and set up an appointment with her. She responded via text and was very prompt in getting back to me. Her studio was very clean and professional and while her manscaping prices are kind of on the expensive side, she was actually very thorough and professional and did a great job.
