Does anyone have any experience using Airbnb in SF for their hobby activities? I'm looking to rent a room for an hour or two and Airbnb seems cheaper on average and more convenient than getting a hotel room. My primary concern is what the host may think.

Yep. Goes without saying. Let the assholes lose their service becasue I get a lot of statements about why personality and YMMV is so true but I get alot of mileage.
