I agree the cops bust the new guys most of the time. About 3 years ago the cops were conducting sting and a saw some other get busted after I turned down the decoy. I was thinking of warning the guy, but I wanted to confirm my suspicions. Really sad to see a guy get busted just because he wants some fun.

Locations
It's very important to always drive a good distance from where you pick up the SW. I always drive on empty streets to make sure I am not being followed.

I remember seeing a john school on TV and some SW was yelling at the class. It would almost be worth it to sit in the class so I tell off the SW's.

Any guy who has ever watched a few episodes of "Cops" has absolutely no excuse to get caught. The biggest repeat offenders such as the guys who post here know better, the only people they will catch are newbies and people who are curious. I have been caught in the act a couple times in Columbus but nothing was suspected because the locations I chose to do the deed were outside the SW hotspots, so we just got yelled at by the police. If you are caught on campus with a girl who could pass for a student, and you look relatively normal yourself, the police wont suspect anything, just tell you to get out. When I was caught with Darla Taylor, I was sure I was going to jail but we were just told to go to a hotel.

I saw a TV show in which an episode of this class was filmed. It was laughable.

City hopes 'john school' will curb prostitution
Saturday classes will give men insight into their crime

Men caught trying to pick up a prostitute in Columbus might soon find themselves in class.

Dubbed "john school" in other cities, an eight-hour weekend course, to start next month in the Franklin County Courthouse, is designed to convince them that one conviction is enough.

They'll learn about sexually transmitted diseases. They'll hear stories of johns who were robbed or killed. They'll learn how their search for sex fuels other neighborhood crime.

And they'll listen to prostitutes' tales of drug addiction and other horrors.

More than 30 U.S. cities have such schools.

"For so long, there's been a focus on getting prostitutes off the street," said Tannisha Bell, an assistant city attorney who leads the program here. "It seems to totally ignore the fact there's a demand side."

Columbus police figures echo that. Between Jan. 1 and April 30, 12 suspected customers were arrested while 424 women were arrested on soliciting charges, Columbus police vice Sgt. Stan Latta said. During the same four months last year, three suspected johns were arrested, compared with 335 women on soliciting charges.

In all of 2006, Latta said, 1,093 women were arrested on prostitution charges. Just 35 suspected customers were charged.

Typically, customers are arrested when Columbus police officers pose as prostitutes, Latta said.

Determining whether the schools work depends on what the goal is. In some cities, it's to divert men from an overwhelmed court system. In other cities, it's to persuade johns not to become repeat offenders.

Last year in Cincinnati, 70 men went through the first year of the program. None of them has been arrested again, said Mary Carol Melton, executive vice president of Cincinnati Union Bethel, a nonprofit agency overseeing the effort.

The goal is to send 275 first-time offenders through the school in three years, she said.

Bell visited the Cincinnati school last week.

"The men were engaged," she said. "They seemed to be interested in what was being said."

San Francisco pioneered the program in 1995. Since the beginning of the year, 202 men have gone through that city's program, said Jackie Martinez, an investigator for the San Francisco district attorney's office.

"It's a rude awakening to them," she said.

Columbus' first eight-hour class is scheduled for July 28. Bell said those sent to the school will have to pay a fee, which is still being determined.

The fee in Cincinnati is $500.

Bell said that the school would be required in addition to probation, jail or a fine. Johns convicted in Columbus can get up to 180 days in jail and a $1,000 fine. Their driver's licenses may be suspended.

The U.S. Justice Department is completing a national study of how well such courses work.

Studies have shown that just arresting johns is a deterrent, said Mike Shively of Abt Associates in Cambridge, Mass., which is conducting the study for the government.

Citizen involvement can help, too, he said. By trying to prevent low-level crimes, neighborhoods send a message that residents still care, Shively said.

On the South Side, prostitutes and their customers move from one neighborhood to the next after residents sic police on them, said Mike Wiles, president of the Council of South Side Organizations.

Customers sent to john school might be embarrassed enough not to try it again, he said.

Linda Henry, president of South Side Neighbors Against Crime, said she still worries that there would be repeat offenders.

"We're not going to eliminate street prostitution," City Attorney Richard C. Pfeiffer Jr. agreed.

But he's willing to dent the demand.

I went out huntin' Saturday night from around 10pm-2am, and I have to say that the pickings were pretty slim. There was absolutely nothing worth stopping for in the bottoms (though I passed by someone twice who looked like Star, though she's normally on Sullivant, I passed on her for the night) and same for Sullivant. This could have been in part due to an abnormally large police presence, though. I saw at least 3 cops cars go past me with what looked like SWs in the back, and even more LE just hanging around every corner.

I took a brief break at midnight to fuel up, grab a drink and stretch my legs after 2 hours of driving. After which, though, the pickings were still the same. I was bound and determined to find something, though, so I stuck it out. Finally, around 2am, when all the LE were waiting at the bars for the drunks to pile out for a few easy DUI arrests, I ran into Jennifer. FS was 40 and it made me glad I stuck it out.

Wow, last night was interesting on Sullivant down around Souder. Apparently the locals decided to have a big ol' argument and tied up the LE boys for some time. Did see a couple of WSWs that I wish I had got to first unfortunately my timing was a little off I guess.

Anyway, picked up a little treat on Broad that was definitely looking for some action. Called herself Erin, 26, light brown hair, about 5'2", thick, but nice chest and adorable face. Took her to a hotel and had a wonderfully satisfying time. I would definately recommend this young filly. She was a little nervous at first but once she realized I was LE, bought her some cigs and something to eat, she was quick out of the clothes and raring to go when we got into the room.

Cruised through the west side Tuesday evening.

I saw a couple of girls that looked pretty decent for SW's. A WSW about 5' 3", very petite. Looked cute, but a little more beat up when I got closer. I saw at least 2 other mongers stop and talk, but they passed for some reason. Saw another girl on Sully. Brown hair, glasses, decent looking body from what I could see. Didn't stop though because there was some LE activity at a nearby house. I gave her some time to put some distance between them, but when I circled back she was gone.

Went out and about the evening before last (7-9) and found a few possibles in between the skanks. One cute gal with shoulder-length frizzy bleach-blonde hair, and wearing a hillbilly hat, was standing in the doorway of Joe's on Sully near Hague. Probably not more than 23. Another slightly older looking miss with long dirty-blonde hair was sitting on the stoop at Mort's Place on the other end of the strip (near Dana). Not sure if they were providers or just out having a smoke (don't recall now if either was puffin'), but both gave me a real nice smile (or it coulda just been due to the sports car, 'cause they were way too young to be interested otherwise) and were still there on my return round, again smiling and watching as I went by. I didn't stop because they both seemed a bit heavier than I usually like, though after thinking about them more later that night I really shoulda because they weren't too bad looking at all. And I certainly didn't find anything better.

Didn't get a good look first pass as I was paying more attention to letting the oinker in front of me gain some distance. When he turned at the next street, I was far enough behind I thought "what the hey" and turned too. But then looking down to the corner where she was, he was stopped with her leaning in his passenger window. Hard to tell if she was a set up or if he was just hassling her, but I booked and she was not there again on several later passes.

She stopped to hug some of the others hanging out at the "wall" there, and since I couldn't get her attention on several passes, and the next side street went the wrong way, I just pulled off about mid-way up the next block behind a parked vehicle with my window down. She bent over to ask "how's it going", and then said yeah she could use a ride if I would catch her on Wayne in a few minutes. I hung out in the area for quite a while, but never saw her after that. Started to pull over and sit but another oinker turned onto Wayne so I kept on going and lost him at the next turn. Went by several times later and saw plenty of others on this corner, but nothing worth stopping for. She wasn't much over 5', and not very well endowed in the tits'n'ass department, but she was extremely cute with long dark (reddish tinged) curly hair and only a few scattered pimples nicely hidden (from a distance) by makeup.
