I apologize if this is in the wrong forum but I looked around and didn't see anywhere else where I thought it would fit.

I've been a monger and lurker of this site since about 2007. I've always worried that somehow my IP could be used to trace me so I apologize for not becoming a member sooner. I have 10 years of reports that I'm sure someone would have found useful.

Something happened today that's never happened before and it has me concerned. I responded to an ad on BP and the provider would only respond via text. So we text back and forth for several hours before she really provided any useful information such as donation and location. Once we agreed on that she then told me she wanted the donation to be a Amazon gift card. This has never happened to me but I knew right away that it was a scam. We went back and forth over several text about using cash versus the gift card. We decided to go our separate ways.

She then kept texting me and also sent several very revealing pics. I decided to play along and pretended that I was interested. So, she gave me an address. I waited about 10 minutes and then texted her stating that I had the amazon gift card, which I didn't. I then waited about another 30 minutes and told her I was at the address (hotel) where she was located, which I really wasn't. I did all of this from the comfort of my office. I asked if I could have the room number but she asked me to text her the amazon gift card number first so she could verify that it was real and the amount was correct. I knew at that moment with 100% certainty that she was trying to scam me. I told her no, and that we could do all of that when I got to her room. Then my phone rang and it was her. Remember, up to this point, we have never spoke to each other. All of our communication has been done via text. Our connection was bad so I could only hear broken pieces of it and it only lasted about 15 seconds. But this is what she said and she followed it up with a confirmation text message. Basically, she said if I didn't give her the amazon gift card number that she was going to report that I called her and asked for an underage girl. That never happened! She then stated that she was going to report my phone number to the child predator site. I've looked for such a site and I can't find one but that doesn't mean it doesn't exist. I never asked for an underage girl and I am not a child predator.

So, I come to you, asking the experts and experienced here on your website. Do I need to be concerned? Should I be worried? I really appreciate any advice you can offer.

Any Lawyers; please advise. I am wondering why the hobby is becoming so difficult with LE stings for both providers and customers. I am trying to think of ways around this. I understand it is legal to produce porn. Why can't we customers just be "talent scouts" and the providers be looking to break into the industry. Basically the same thing happened to me in Yakima, WA state. 20001. The cops told me it was a "Civil Matter" in that state. They would not even file a report. It was a lot of hassle for the small amount she got. IF I had caught her back then I'd have popped a cap in her! Back then I didn't care too much about circumstances. I'd have definitely got in more trouble than it would've been worth.
