Jan. 11 (UPI) -- The USA Embassy in Colombia warned that dating apps may be linked to suspicious deaths of several USA Citizens in Medellin.

The embassy in Bogota said Wednesday eight Americans died between Nov. 1 and Dec. 31, including involuntary drugging overdoses or suspected homicides.

It added that the deaths are not believed to be linked as they each involved "distinct circumstances" but noted that several of the deaths indicated the possibility of drugging, robbery and overdose and several involved the use of dating apps.

"Criminals use dating apps to lure victims to meet in public places such as hotels, restaurants and bars, and then later assault and rob them," the USA Embassy said in a statement. "Numerous USA Citizens in Colombia have been drugged, robbed and even killed by their Colombian dates. ".

The embassy said that over the last year it had seen an increase in reports involving use of dating apps to lure victims, especially foreigners, for robbery.

They typically meet in public places, but then later assault and rob them.

The embassy advised travelers to use caution if they use dating apps in Colombia and to meet any strangers only in public places.

Travelers should also tell friends or family members their travel plans, including details on anyone they are meeting, along with the name of the app if using dating apps.

The embassy said it regularly gets reports of dating apps being used to lure victims in Medellin, Cartagena and Bogota, as well as other Colombian cities.

The security alert follows one issued Jan. 2 that advised increased caution and reconsideration of travel to Colombia due to "crime and terrorism. " That advisory said civil unrest and risks of kidnapping had increased and "violent crime, such as homicide, assault and armed robbery, is widespread. ".

Thefts against tourists went up 200% in the third trimester of 2023, according to the Tourism Observatory of the District Personnel of Medellin. Violent deaths of foreign visitors went up by 29% and most of the 2023 victims were USA Citizens.

I know its the rival spot to the Philippines which I've had a couple sexcursions to. I would love to visit Thailand next, but I've been spoiled. Here are a couple positives if you go to the PI:

The exchange rate is definitely in your favor. Currently it's. 0018 pesos for one US dollar. *You do the math. Can definitely party eat and drink all night for less than $100 US and still have plenty of change left over.

If you are Caucasian you will have girls flock to you. If you are an American the chances of them flocking to you and having the pick of the litter for a wife the next day is exponential. LOL. But pace yourself. You'll always guaranteed to see a better one than the one hanging off your arm.

You can pick up bar girls, but why bother? The first couple 3 nights on my first visit, I picked up 2 girls (different girls every night) and they stayed with me all night. They weren't pros (actually university students), but definitely hinted for dineros before going home after breakfast the next morning. I gifted them like $50-$60 and they were ecstatic and very appreciative. After the 3rd night, I just want 1 girl for each of the couple days. I feed her, fuck her and we show each other a good time before I moved on to finding another girl. Buying them something nice like a dress or a purse can result in getting your dick worn out.

Many high end hotels are fairly priced and they don't question when you have a gaggle of giggly girls accompanying you. Order room service and they bring a spread to feed you and your companions. Drinks as well.

Starve them out.

It looks as if some providers are changing there donations based on reviews here. I doubt they realize that the review is based on the current rate and that increasing those donations will drive down business or change reviews based on that increased rate. I think we all should make a point of basing the review on the current donation.

For instance, I see that Ariana has raised her donation to 500 per hour. While I was very positive of my review of her at 300 per hour (which she is now trying to grandfather in at 400), I would certainly not consider her at 500.
