City delays need for dancers to be licensed

Jacksonville officials have agreed that dancers at adult entertainment clubs won't have to get licensed by the city -- yet.

Chief Deputy General Counsel Cindy Laquidara said the city has agreed not to enforce the licensing portion of the ordinance until officials discuss some of the issues raised in two lawsuits.

The lawsuits, filed by several bikini bars and nude dance clubs just weeks after the City Council called for licensing dancers by Jan. 9, say the city also shouldn't be able to prohibit dancers with a prostitution conviction from ever being eligible for a license.

Adult entertainment changes
The Jacksonville City Council recently revised regulations dealing with adult entertainment establishments. Read coverage the recent changes:

In addition to requiring dancers to be licensed, the ordinance calls for bikini bars to get business licenses already required for nude dance clubs. That is also on hold for now.

Altamonte Springs attorney Larry Walters, who represents three nude dance clubs, said the city is attempting to shut down adult entertainment establishments. The ordinance forces older nude dance clubs and adult bookstores to relocate within five years if they are within 500 feet of homes or within 1,000 feet of schools or churches.

The lawsuits say the ordinance violates the constitutional right to free speech, because dancers may be fearful that their personal information could end up in the hands of stalkers.

Gainesville attorney Gary Edinger, who represents the bikini clubs, couldn't be reached for comment Friday.

The lawsuit claims the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office didn't have any forms for dancers or bars to fill out for licenses when requested. Laquidara said the Sheriff's Office would have been able to provide the licenses before the deadline.

Charlie Hartsock, operator of the nude dance club Doll House, said he doesn't have a problem with the licensing of dancers. But he said charging $100 per dancer each year is excessive. He said he hasn't lost any dancers because of the ordinance

Hartsock's biggest concern is that the Doll House, which he's operated for 20 years, would have to move. The club is across the street from Assumption Catholic School and church and Bishop Kenny High School.

Anyways, Had time today to go on yet another Daisy search. Hit Both PH and Sin City and ... you guessed it....no luck. Did see Mary T. walking with a new girl by the BP on PH. Did a LEO loop to try and snag the new girl but she was gone by the time got back to the site. Picked up Mary and had her do the BBBJ thing. Did an afternoon troll on Main and PH. Nothing on my first loop on Main headed over to PH. Saw a chunky WSW red hair in black jeans had nice rack. Did a looped and got beat by a very old monger. Headed back north to Main, nothing.
It was getting ready to pour big time. Headed over to Myrtle and spotted a skinny mid 20's BSW at 26th. Scooped her up. Went to nice safe spot(by this time the front of the police station would have safe it pouring big time) and got a half n half for a jack and a lincoln. Name is "Gigi" sweet girl average face great tight body. She has a clit the size of the end of my pinkie finger. It was very sensitive and she rubbed it the whole time she was riding me.
