On my return through Maxton I called the number Nina had given me on a recent trip while I was about an hour out. The man who answered said he would need to see if she was home so I said I would call back. When I did he told me she was in jail for child support and needed $80 to be bailed out. The woman I did spend time with that afternoon was pleasant company who told me the gentleman I had met was the local dealer and was indeed most likely to be trying to rip me off.
