Very few chica houses now exist in the Roosevelt Ave area. Unless you look and speak Spanish fluently, the chance of getting into one of these houses is slim. Many shills on the street corners, but you need to speak to them in Spanish.

It sounds like a shaky case. If they gave you ticket for just talking to a SW then you probably have a very good chance of beating the ticket. If they caught you with a sw, you still have a good chance.

Your best bet is to contact a attorney or visit the law library and research the law. There is a set of books called statutory interpretation. This will give you a some info on legal precedents. You might want delay this as long as possible and ask for a jury trial. The DA may simply decide that this is too much trouble and drop the case.

The description of the charge is a disorderly persons offense. One cannot have a jury trial for DP offenses. The attorney is the highly recommended approach.

Getting a bogus summons for.....

Over the past months I have heard incidents involving summonses from LE in areas we know well. But then the court throws out the the charges without even hearing the case.

In a couple of cases, LE caught the monger in the act on a quiet street, in another case they pulled the monger over after he talked to an SW but she didn't get into the car.

In all these case, the charges were something like loitering or disorderly conduct. In the case of the guy who talked to the girl but didnt pick her up they charged him with intentionally obstructing vehicular or pedestrian traffic!

It seems to me that in these cases, they KNOW what was going on but don't have proof that money was invloved (and therefore no proof of a crime) but they want to hassle the monger. They want to teach a lesson and scare the monger. I'm thinking that they KNOWINGLY issue summonses for bogus charges that the courts will throw out immediatley but they still figure that hassling the monger is doing their job.

Who has experience with this? What were you charged with and what happened? How widespread is this LE policy?

I am one of the victims here. Post your response or PM me. I have further thoughts that I want to share but first I want to get a sense of how much of this is going on out there.

No kidding? I got a card last weekend in Astoria (intersection of Broadway and Steinway). Good quality card too. Unfortunately, I now live in the Bx, and cannot take advantage of the number.

I speak enough spanish to get by, and despite my Honduran background, I look more like a brother, than a latino.

I was in the neighborhood 4:30am, sunday morning and decided to do a quick loop. 3 girls out; one cracked-out WSW, a chubby LSW and a BSW that was just right. I didn't realize she was working 'till she waved. I drove around and pulled up to her half a block fron the billiards spot. She walks over, peers into the passenger side window and keeps walking. I've been told I have a cop "vibe" by another provider so maybe that was why. Called it quits and went home.
