Hi Doc, Psyber,
I actually like the features that onebox.com 's has of letting you (among other things) decide whether you want to pick the phone up or not (while the caller is listening to a pre recorded message).
You decide when and how to granulate filter certain callers.
Whether certain calls to "follow you..."
Their service is not cheap but it gives a very nice layer of privacy.

1) RUMOR has it that blonde Rachael is not a "safe" girl to be with. Hope to god that you used protection. I've heard this rumor from more than one source.
2) Just for clarification sake. It is a Abrams A1 M1 Tank. The Bradley is actually an armoured personel carrier that carries about 8 dismounts and is armed with a 20mm cannon in addition to 50 calibur machine guns.
The Abrams is a giant tank (takes up about 2 lanes of traffic). Don't know the calibur of the rounds. They fall under the catagory of "big ass rounds". Just a little info for those interested.
Taking a break during this awful weather we have been having. In the snow, I'm not sure how you could tell anyone apart, if you are lucky enough not to skid into a cop car.

What a great tip! I easily found a service with everything you mentioned. I think the ability to return a call from the voicemail and have it show the "social number" to the person you are calling is fantastic. I am getting one for mongering and one for work! And I just got a great phone number!
The only flaw I can see is many girls do not leave messages if they don't get you live, especially blockettes and street girls. For instance, I am seeing a blockette now who cannot get return calls because she does not live alone...and she never leaves messages.
I haven't figured out a way around this yet, but I am working on it. I am going to try and put this to good use. Plus, I believe it to be essentailly untraceable, since you can sign up with an anonymous e-mail, although the service would have your phone number if you want text messages sent to you when you have a voicemail.

NEW YORK: There is no shortage of ways to reach Arin McClain, a singer who lives in Philadelphia. She has a Web site, an instant messenger account, a ******* page, four e-mail addresses and two mobile phones.
Good luck getting one of those phone numbers, though. She would sooner tell you her weight.
"Why would I give out my cell?" said McClain, 23. "I don't need a guy I met at a bar one night calling me every day for the next two weeks begging me to go out. I want to filter out the people I don't need to have contact with."
In an age of information oversharing, the mobile-phone number is one of the few pieces of personal information that people still choose to guard. Unwanted calls are intrusive, time-consuming and can cost money if you are abroad or if, as is often the case in the United States, you pay for incoming calls.
And the decision to give out a cell number can haunt you for years, as people tend to hold on to the numbers longer than their land-line numbers.
Some people have found a way to avoid compromising the sanctity of their cellphone without committing the modern sin of being unreachable. Instead of giving out her cell number, McClain has recently been dispersing what has become known as a "social xxxxxx."
This is a free number that is as disposable as a Hotmail address. A handful of Web sites are creating these mask numbers, which can be obtained in nearly every U.S. area code. Users can either have a number in their own region, or make it look as if they have an office in New York City when they are actually operating out of rural Maine.
These sites buy numbers in bulk at a discount, then generate profit by displaying ads and getting users of the free service to upgrade to billable plans with features like call forwarding, call blocking and outbound calling.
For those who sign up, a recording prompts callers to leave a voice-mail message, and a text or e-mail message is then sent to the recipient to announce a new message, which can be picked up on the Web, by e-mail message or by phone.
Matt W. , creator of the social xxxxx provider xxxxx.com (and chief marketing officer of the site's parent company), said that he got the idea to protect mobile numbers in 2005 when Paris Hilton's cellphone was hacked into, spilling her contacts' phone numbers all over the Internet.
"I thought, 'There's got to be a better way,'" he said.
xxxxx.com made its debut in May, with the paradoxical tagline "My number is so private, I can make it public." AOL introduced a similar service around the same time. xxxxx.com, xxxxx.com and xxxxx.net are other sites that offer similar services free, albeit without the benefit of customizable area codes.
Wisk said that a person's cellphone number had become the most personal, "the last one you'd give out."
"Now, for so many people," he said, "it's the only number, and it corresponds to an object you have on you at all times. It can be a disruptive technology. Having a number that goes straight to voice mail is less intrusive."
Of course, even if you use a social phone number, your hidden digits are likely to be announced through caller ID to anyone you deign worthy of calling back. [ As I mentioned before , some of these have a ring·back feature that displays the 'social' digits on the recievers caller ID — P·Z ]
For that, a Web site called xxxxx.com offers users the ability to create new, free numbers for every person they want to call. It works by giving the user and the person being called the same social xxxxx to call each other.
"Historically, phone numbers were assigned to a destination, like a home or work phone," explained one of xxxxx's founders, Michael C. "Then they were assigned to a device, like a cell. What we are doing is assigning numbers to specific relationships. We offer a shared, mutually anonymous number."
Vincent Colomb, 29, is a San Francisco insurance broker who uses a xxxxx number when meeting women on Match.com. "In online dating, the cellphone is like the holy grail of contact information," he said. "It just feels aggressive to ask someone for it."
Colomb has used his xxxxx number effectively with several women he has met online. But sometimes, anonymity is a turnoff: Dating is a little like picking up a call from a restricted number; sometimes you just have to take that risk. "Last time," Colomb said, "the woman was like, 'Um, why can't I just use a real number?'"
So don't tell them it's not a real number , Vincent .... there's no way to tell that it isn't

determination and persistence finally won out last night after a long drought. breaking one of my sacred rules of not cruising the w/w loop more than twice at one time so as not to draw any attention to myself, i did just the opposite and lucked out.
there were several girls (8 or 9) and 4 wilkensettes (**** girls and future sw's) out around 7 p.m. and practically no le. guess le must have had the night off.
i saw a real cute brunette with shoulder length hair walking to westside shopping center. we exchanged glances but she kept walking and didn't look back. she was really nice!
i ran into the blonde rachel on catherine and wilkens who was looking for a ride. she has been reported on previously but those who have a short memory, rachel has short blonde hair, brown eyes, 30 y/o, 5' 7", a nice pair of 36 c's, clean, good hygiene, and nice looking. her kitten was wearing her winter pelt and as with most blondes the carpet didn't match the drapes).
she was pleasant enough, nodding off and on due to her drug habit and provided a no rush and good service. she removed her tongue ring shortly after picking her up, placed in a piece of cloth and put it in her pocket. rachel said she didn't want to catch it on anything or lose it. that was a first for me. lol
i must have been a real inspiration to her as she fell asleep on the way back to furrow) at least that beats geeking out and spinning the radio dial or yelling out the car window at everyone she knows lol
she gave me her street address and wanted to know if i wanted her phone number but i declined the later. i haven't had much luck with those cell phone numbers the girls give out.
i enjoyed myself and had a good time. damn, let's face it, no white boy should have to go this long without) lol it been a long cold winter and it's still not over.

You make it sound like a bad neighborhood.
I don't think that is a bad strategy if you do some things different and do some planning.
1. Look like you belong there. Dress down. Don't carry cash. Don't shave or comb your hair (for those of us who actually have hair!).
2. You will have to be agressive. BBB is correct that they are use to car dates. Once you are out there, the SW will figure out that you are not LE. But I do want the dealers to think that I'm LE to keep them away.
3. Don't carry weapons. Don't give LE a reason to bother you. They have never looked twice in my direction. I keep walking around and as long as you look like you belong and don't sit or stand in one place long, you should be fine.
