There were (maybe still are) a decent number of munches. Most, that I knew of, were BDSM and M / s related. Like the CLT Traveling Munch. Named for the fact that it moved around each month to different restaurants (with repeats) in the CLT area. Haven't been to one in over a decade. I don't recall fetish specific munches. There was a rope group (shibari), which I always affiliated more with fetish than BDSM. Depending on the practitioners focus being decorative or for actual bondage. I do recall the Raleigh TNG (The Next Generation. A group specific to 35 and unders in the BDSM and broader variety of alt communities. Fet included) had a large fetish influence due to it's participants whereas the Charlotte TNG was more BDSM based on it's members interests. Again. Very aged information here as I haven't engaged in the community (publicly) for many, many years. Aside from munches, there used to be a residence out by G'boro that was a community space (dungeon) - called LaFortress. Fairly certain that Seekr has closed it. It was definitely more BDSM but had a fusion with fetish (overlap exists naturally). Watched and participated in figging, latex etc there. Most of what I'm mentioning was BDSM-centric, so it was never a natural fit for me. Additionally, it's hard to find professionals (career-wise, not lifestyle service providers) and therefore I rarely crossed paths with folks that were compatible with me.
