I think there should be some aggressive moves for travel bubbles. Many tourists don't drop that much cash here, especially those staying in illegal AirBNB. Also lose out on tax money due to the AirBNB. Hawaii should be targeting the rich Koreans and Japanese, funneling them towards hotels and all that. Selling them luxury travel packages. Would also open up Hawaii residents headed to Japan and Korea. Of course, with cases spiking here again, our local government not getting a control of the tourists who are coming here and breaking quarantine, I don't think any of those countries will bite anymore.

Even Thai tourism minister declared "hard but inevitable change".

They announced for long that chose quantity than quality and has been known for cheap water sports, cheap shopping and notorious cheap sex tour, and that image pushed "vips" that can spend hefty of money away into Seychelles, Maldives and HK, Tokyo.

In lasting pandemic, Thai must change. Quality than quantity. 50 K shopping from one middle east rich than 50 K from 500 gogo bar clients. One family at 5 stars resorts than 100 young guys at hostels.

And Thai starts "70% discount tour course for locals". Now Thai people can enjoy cheap tour if recession did not affect them much.

Now soon we can go to Thai, if we can pay resorts quarantine fee for minimum 14 days in phuket.

Thai government said they must shift industry structure into more manufacture and agriculture.

It must be hard for most of tourism countries but there is no way. Tourists will not love lands as much as locals, and not easy to track.

Hawaii seems to be the only place that does not worry about economy.

Mainland and east Asia are now struggling with continuous new Bankrumptcy and firing. Federal aid for unemplyment benefit will end while many at home just find their position and workplace disappear forever.

They don't have money. Vacation in Hawaii is not for job seekers or struggling middle class.

People will not come that much.

A lot of alternative destination in their menu. Hawaii is NOT the only option that people must come.

In summer even local lake can easily replace tropical tour. And they are cheaper and more accessible. Time saving too. And more welcoming. No need to take 300-1,000 USD test with healthy condition. As we will go to other bars if I have to pay to be with worst hostess, they will not come here to be picked on by locals.

Covid-19 started way back in January 2020 but maybe late 2019 and the US didn't find out till early February 2020. Trump said it was a hoax as he was dealing with impeachment proceedings.

His mind at the time (fucked up) decided to let the virus kill others as the US should be safe and said the virus will disappear.

It disappeared all the way to the WH. Haha.

Now some citizens don't want to wear a mask. It's ok, don't bother them, there Superman / Wonder Woman and kryptonite will win. Try being on a ventilator than simply wearing a mask? Be safe, for others sake.

Not trying to make hysteria question, In the state back home. Can anyone refuse to tell which hostess bar likely he or she get COVID from? I know we have a good contact tracing system here. But do we have the rights to remain silent in this matter? Thanks in advance.

The simplest answer is: I don't remember everywhere I went.

Example: I went to McDonalds for lunch, then I went to Safeway and Walmart to buy groceries. I don't think I went anywhere else that week. I also ordered dinner from DoorDash a couple of times that week and didn't wear my mask everywhere prior to it being mandatory.

See, in Japanese culture, they would divulge they went to a hostess bar purely out of consideration for other guests and employees. Out of the same consideration, they would also not name the bar, because it's not necessary. Everyone who should know will know to watch their shit, while unsavory 3rd parties won't have enough information to act. In order to prove a type of complacency, you would need to have an absolute connection equating an unwillingness to act is just as harmful as the act itself. You have to remember that a "cluster" of cases does not prove who actually transmitted it, nor does it specifically implicate anyone who has it from being a transmitter.

I don't know Japanese law, but in American law the statement "I don't know" goes a long way. Just don't say "I don't know" if they can prove you know or should have known. This is also why it's important not to lie to your attorney and tell them everything, LOL.

Depends on how much they value your information and how drastic (subpoena and daily $ fine) the methods to get your cooperation; you may become complicit by being uncooperative. Depends on the situation and circumstances so ask one legal advisor.

But being with others without ppe in confined indoor space can be like that. I don't think any state can afford more lockdown any more. So all it is your choice and your responsibility.

I have seen my own mom hooked up tube down her throat at ICU. She was begging me to tell the doctor to have her tube removed cause she was so uncomfortable. She could not talk with the tube so she wroted. I had tear in my eyes just to see her suffering and all I could do is to relay her message to the doc. I

One girls msged me that she would cancel coming to hawaii in August owing to cost.

She said with her insurance, not good not bad, it costs 300 USD to get test without symptom. And she thinks she will not earn more than 5 K a month if lie very low. So not coming benefit more if she consider rental here cause she does not want to sleep at AMP like before, round trip flight.

I would like to read reports of people who have recovered from ICU with this virus. What it feels like to be hooked up with tubes down the throat, and the other 2 holes for a couple of weeks.

Only reading about increase daily positive cases being tested.

I would rather wear a mask when out than lying on a bed knowing the end is near. Be safe, stay healthy.

It's really come down to people's choice, no one like to come down with COVID, it is the suffering and isolation you have to go through, and worry of infecting your family and others if you do get it make you be more careful about it. I do agree with the Doc that bars are breeding ground for COVID, most people are not wearing mask and distancing there. Seniors needs to think twice to step their foot in the bar cause their chance to get it are much higher than the younger ones, and the recovery time are much longer.
