Getting caught, Experience and advice.

Isn't it crazy? If you look at some of my posts on the Las Vegas Forums, I had a story on Boulder by Boulder Station where a guy in front of me slammed on the breaks to pull off then proceed to reverse to the walker that waived. Of course I had to turn around and get a better look, and lo and behold, she's on HIS side (ass hanging out in traffic) hanging in his window. Just blows my mind.

Anyone out there with some insight to the other side of the law?

I was learning yesterday about something regarding Lealman vs St. Pete (50th Ave vs 34th St. Strolls). I was seeing that Lealman isn't incorporated so it's a Sheriff are which is associated with less resources (this was from a discussion about schools and not really that sweet sweet strange). Can anyone elaborate?

Any monger that cruises the triangle will tell you that there is no lack of LEO resources in the triangle and they hide, and they constantly pull people over. Not so much for the SPPD, who seem more interested in the homeless. Just my personal observations over the last 30 years.

Same, I have driven that hwy way too many times in a rental car but can't ever take the plunge like that. Pulling into closed businesses, making uturns and turning on side streets. Just doesn't work like it does other cities. Pretty much have to jam the brakes and open the window to get a chance.

I can tell you from my time in Vegas Tropicana Ave and Boulder HWY were great. However all the girls wanted to negotiate through the window and no one on that board answered a justification for the blatant disregard for that rule (I asked dozens of times). If I chilled at the burger king or Inn and Out there, you could watch mongers get bugged by LEO for letting women walk up to their window and hang in.

I don't care how hot they are, I am not negotiating that way.

Not to benefit from anyone's misfortune but for the good of all I would like to hear what people "did wrong" or what slip-up you think you made to get your caught? NOt so much what happened after they got "caught" Did the girl confess? Did the catch you with something else and the it was the lessor of the charges? No judging, I sincerely think everyone could benefit for those that learned the hard way what got them hemmed in.

This thread should get more attention and notice. If are you doing car dates I would only say the obvious. Make sure your car is in good working order and you know your car, so their is no reason to pull you overs, brake lights, taillights, turn signals works. You know that the car is older than your usual ride and the headlights don't automatically come on. You know how to extinguish all lights and sounds on your car immediately while parked and taking care of business.

In my travels, it blows my mind how often I will see a monger talk to a woman through the window.

I was trying to do some research on solicitation laws. It looks like if you're caught there is a registry that you are placed in, a 5 k fine, and they air you on tv.

Cany anyone vouch for it?

I've been pulled over so many times, that I don't much worry about it anymore. I travel all over the US on business, and every city is different. I have only been cuffed and searched once, never arrested, yet. Hopefully never. After getting pulled over so many times shortly after picking up a girl, the best thing that you should do is to never discuss anything about sexual acts or money until you have driven well away from that area. Then there is nothing they can get out of the girl if you don't say anything. I was only picking her up as she looked cold and hungry, officer. We were just heading to McDonalds!

Here's a couple stories of close / interesting encounters.

I grew up in San Diego, live in Tampa now. San Diego has a street that used to be the primo SW area, called ECB. In the one section of street, there is an alley parallel to the street. So if you happened to see something interesting, you could simply take a right, then a quick right down the alley, and get back around to scoop the girl. So one night late, I drove by a hottie, took a right, then right in the alley, and as I was going down the alley, an old beater car pulls into the alley right in front of me. I slam on the brakes, the other car does too, and we just kiss bumpers as we come to a stop. Dude jumps out of the car, I get out. He looked like a homeless, dude, kinda like Shaggy from ScoobyDoo. He says, "Man, I am so sorry!" and we both look to see about damage. Just then, an old beater pickup truck pulls up, and an old homeless-looking dude jumps out, comes up to us, and says "What happened? Shaggy says "I pulled out right in front of him!" Old dude says " We are police officers, vice detail". I said "Vice?, doing a drug sting?" He says, "Nah, prostitution detail". He then says, "we get these old beater cars out of impound, we don't shave for a few days, and go out on nights except Tuesday and Thursday. I asked what he meant about that, and he goes " word on the street is that vice drives newer rental cars, that we look clean cut, and we only do stings on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Stupid fucking girls, we get them every time! Then they both start laughing. We couldn't see any damage, so the old guy says to check out my car in daylight, if I see any damage, to call him, hands me his business card, he was the head of vice. Funny thing was, they never once asked me WTF I was doing driving down that alley at midnight, LOL.

Second story I learned something. Was in a midwestern city. On the main cruising street, late at night, and passed by a girl that looked promising. Pull in a gas station, made a you-turn in the station, then head back to pick up the girl. Just then, a cop pulls off a side street and pulls me over. It was a lady cop. She says "I saw what you are trying to do". I said "what? She says "You were going to pick up that girl". I said no, I was planning to get gas, and it was cheaper at the other station down the street. Then she says, no you weren't, you better tell me the truth, things will be better for you if you tell me the truth. I said, no, I told you the truth. So she says "let me see your license and registration". I had put my wallet in the pocket behind the passenger seat, so I reached behind that seat to get it, and she screamed at me. I turn towards her and see a gun pointed at my face, her hands shaking. I said WTF are you doing? She said "why are you reaching behind the seat, I almost shot you!" I told her that she asked me to get my fucking I'd and I was. I was really pissed and told her that she better have a good reason for this, and she sheepishly told me to go. So I learned that if they ask for my I'd, that I tell them where it is and how I am going to get it.

One never knows when a successful scoop can turn tragic at the spare of the moment with no fault of your own.

Years ago I made a scoop at Idelwild and Neb. I drove towards and was instructed by the provider to make a left on Biard. Just then another car rear ended me. Luckily the provider jumped out of my car and ran like the wind.

When LEO arrived, the guy who hit me claimed I stopped abruptly to pick up a lady who was walking, which was a lie because I picked her up blocks further up the road. The officer tried to get me to admit to picking up the lady instead of the issue of someone hitting me from behind. When other officers arrived they went to all businesses in the area to see if in fact the guy was telling the truth.

Making a long story short, I was told by the officer to never come back to the area because the business has seen me there many times before (lie). That was my "Trespass Warning".

After about an hour of harassment from TPD, they finally got to the accident investigation. Be careful guys.

I just got back from a monsterous out of town trip, and went for a late evening jog (felt like midnight, but was only 7:30) around the good ol Lealman area. I tend to do it as it gives me ample opportunity to size up options for later scoops.

Anyway, around Rosedale and 22nd, I started talking to this lady that I wasn't 100% on whether or not she was working, or just asking for money. I figured it out quickly because mid sentence she walked right past me as if she went dead, and as I tracked her in disbelief, the police lights came on.

The first cop jumps out, a little aggressively but I get it, to stop her and question her and another officer came to me keeping us separated. Luckily being drenched in sweat and on foot I showed my mileage tracker and explained that I was flagged down and in the middle of hearing what she had to say then she just went dead. In the end, the officer educated me to the area around here (I guess that street is relatively good) and that I should consider changing my route or not talk to anyone, but I was free to go. If the story I'd's me, as I'm sure some of you mongers have seen me on my bike or running thinking it was weird, say Hi! I don't mind. LEO too!

Finally -- it got me thinking, I remember some peppered comments throughout the board discussing experiences with LEO, and I know the multiple boards and 21 rules that are great prevention and management, but I wanted to start a thread on true experiences, what worked, what didn't, what you'd do in the future, and all around things experience has taught you.

I know one guy who had a Lyft light that said it helped. I also know of a story of one dude who kept a bible in his car, and another dude who discussed trying to find his sister. I can't find them in the escort or SW forums, but know they're there.

Overall, I'm curious about this aspect because I know it's going to happen and eventually I'll get caught, and even if I follow all the known rules (cop check, denying searches, etc) the interaction with LEO is inevitable the longer I'm in the hobby. I'm most curious about:

1. What repercussions / penalties did you experience that you were surprised by?

2. What do you think your mistake was?

3. Did it discourage you? Why / Why not?
