Are you asking about car rental or apartment rental?

For car rental you can use any agency. You can also ride the bus from LA down to the border at San Ysidro then cross over on foot, about 3.5 hours from LA.

Apartment rental may be too much work unless you stay 5 to 7 nights. Then you will probably have only limited selection of escorts from agencies who are known for bait and switch.
