Don't really know for sure. It may be too early to say. Went and paid a visit again to The Grand. For you guys that care, masks are no longer required. I don't care as I plan to continue to wear my mask cause it has been nice not catching a cold for the last 2 years. Also, I haven't smelled anyone's bad breath, girls included. Anyhow, people I talked to said that more guys appear to be returning to the club now that the mask mandate is over. Whatever, I guess some people had a real issue wearing them. I didn't care but to each his own. So according to those in the know, the club is starting to do better every week. So there may be some life in the old girl afterall. I still don't give it much time as I believe the clubs lease is up at the end of the year and doubt the owner of the building would renew it. I wouldn't. Too much money to be made renting the property to a grocery store chain or something instead of keeping an adult business going. But lets hope it lasts for a bit longer. I still had a great time with my regulars and actually saw a couple of new girls who I'd like to try out. I will ride this pony till it drops dead. But the $20 entrance fee along with a $54 per hour dance fee and higher drink prices will probably kill the club sooner than later.

Heard of it. Never tried it. I believe it is an Asian club which really isn't my thing.

After my last outting at LA Grand, due to the physical condition of the place I felt that it was dying a slow death. After reading yesterdays comments, I made a trip downtown to the Grand to see where it stands. Well, sad to say that my prior assessment of a slow death may be incorrect, and it looks more like death is approaching the Grand very rapidly. Remember that this was Saturday night, and in the past, you could expect to see at least 40 - 50 guys, and about as many girls to be in the place. It was normally packs. Last night felt like it was Tues or Wed midweek. I would guess (based upon the cards in the clocked in wall cardholder) that there were 10 - 12 guys in the club, and the same number of girls. I say this because there were no girls on the couch nor men waiting in the lobby so everyone was busy. That is good, but I don't believe the club can last on that few number of customers. Even if a few guys have come and gone, club income would be low and the high rents in downtown would push the club out of business eventually. There were a couple of attractive girls there, however the overall atmosphere of the place is just. Sad! Lots of decay; ceilings with holes, light bulbs out. All in all a sad experience for the long term HC goer. Overall, I could not recommend HC visits to new people, but if you are so intrigued and you must, I would advise trying Club Starlight. It may soon be the last club standing.

When did Dreamland close?

Honestly, it is very hard to remember. I'm thinking sometime in the mid-1990's. Maybe 1997 or 1998, but again, I just don't really remember.

To add to your list, we can not forget what I considered my favorite HC in DTLA, Dreamland. It was on Spring Street between 8th and 9th street. The sign for the club is still on the building. It was a multilevel club that you took an elevator to the 2nd floor to enter. Then inside, there was a staircase leading to the 3rd floor. I figured out what HC'ing was all about at this club (with the help of one of the girls who I wish I could remember her name).

As for City of Industry, they had 3 clubs of note (actually 1 other that didn't last very long and was only known by true HC goers. It was run by a drug dealer, without an HC license, so when the.

But the two everyone knew about was the one in the same shopping center as the Spearmint Rhino strip club (can't remember the name), and the Boss Club which was over by the other strip club (which is still there) and the Yoshinoya). The Boss Club was more a brothel than a HC. Almost all girls proovided FS inside and outside the club, and management created an atmosphere conducive to getting that done. It was the best ever, followed only by 6 months or so at Tropical Club. Good times, and I enjoyed every second of it. The third club was Minato East, also in a shopping center with a strip club. I can't remember the names of the streets they were on cause I don't go to City of Industry ever now that the clubs are gone.

Those were the good old days. I met many ladies from dreamland outside of the club. Best bang for the buck. City of industry also had a couple of great Korean massage parlors.

How sad the state of affairs for hostess clubs in Los Angeles are these days. When I started going there were at least 8 in downtown LA. Now there are two and who knows how long they will be up. Starlight is nothing like the other ones in my opinion. I only went once and was not liking the vibe. Maybe I should give it another chance. LA Grand is still good and is similar to the now shuttered ones. I want to compile a list of ones from the past. These are the Hostess clubs I know. Please add any that I missed. Does not have to be in DTLA. I also did not include the Japanese and Korean hostess clubs because they are usually only for members or if you are Asian. I remember hearing about one in Thai town that was good and open to anyone.

LA Grand: 1040 S Grand DTLA (Open).

Starlight: 1222 S Broadway DTLA (Open).

Las Palmas: 950 S Broadway DTLA (Closed in 2014).

El Gaucho: 425 W 8th st DTLA (Closed in 2018).

Fantasy Club: 307 W 4th st DTLA (Closes in 2020 during COVID).

Galaxy Ballroom: 902 S Olive st DTLA (Closed in 2018?

Tropical Club: 1721 Flower st DTLA (Closed 2020 during COVID).
