Requesting basic information about Club Starlight from someone who has been there recently. Trying to find out:

Entrance Fee.

Basic Layout of the club.

How you get with a girl (I've been told that you can't directly ask a girl to spend time with you. You must go thru an intermediary. Is this correct?

Basic cost (drink prices mainly but hourly fee would be great).

Any pitfalls you might feel would be prudent to warn a newby about.

Tipping house staff (mamasan, bouncers, dj's. Etc) yes or no?

I have never been there but with the decline of action and talent at both LA Grand and Club Fantasy, I'm considering giving Starlight a go. Tropical is not even a consideration.

Thursday night lingerie contests. Dreamland was by far the favorite club that I attended in downtown LA. Many people were fond of Flamingo, but I guess I never went there enough before it closed to make it feel like a "homebase" . But Dreamland felt like one of the clubs I used to go to when I lived in NYC. Had the same vibe and feel with the elevator entrance, and the split level set up. I will always miss this one, more than I miss The Boss Club.

Flamingo was cool. Wet t-shirt contest on don't remember which day of the week but once a week. One of the girls was interviewed by one of those local LA tv show back then.

Can someone explain to me, what's the difference between the Korean Karaoke places I go to and a hostess club. In Karaoke, we buy bottle service like a night club. Have a private room, and girls cost 60 per hour.

From what I'm reading hostess club is big open room? Also someone mentioned something about private members clubs. Can you please pm me. Would be very interested in joining one.

I remember an old manager at my company back then took us there. We took an elevtator up and when it opened, was like a scene from Goodfellas in the bar.

I used to see SUGAR a hot latina going to UCLA back then.

This is circa 1997 or so. Everything was better back then. SW scene is all but gone now without Vice all over.

Miss the 90's.

I have recently been spending more time in the clubs than I probably should, but its kind of a nice time killer before going home. I've only been spending time at 2 of the 4 "open" clubs located in downtown LA. By "open" I mean ones that do not require private memberships. Here is what I've seen lately.

LAG. Man, this place is going downhill fast. It amazes me that it is the most expensive of the 2 clubs I go to cause the lineup of girls is not the best. Most of the girls there have been working there for years. Literally. Ones that started off really cute, after pumping out a couple of pups, are no longer as cute as they used to be, and most time they are much much bigger. The place is dusty so if you have allergies, you might want to avoid. And don't go on rainy days or you will be walking or dancing around a bunch of buckets cause they won't fix the leaky roof. This is one of the main reasons I believe their time with us is very limited. So why do I keep going, especially considering the $15 entrance fee? There are a couple of girls still there that are worth the expedition to me. And really if you think it thru, one good girl is all the reason you need. One girl I dance with, a short, kinda plump light skin Latina, gives a great grind (and a bit more once you know her). There is an Asian girl there who showed me a really nice time. There is also another Latina, relatively tall, kinda bowlegged, very pretty, who I am told can be very friendly once she gets to know you. She's kinda hot, so I will try her on my next visit. While on the dance floor I have seen other girls there taking good care of their clients. Guess they have to to get guys to continue coming into the place. My advice, if you go, don't sit down with the girl cause the drinks are ridiculously expensive and for some reason time slips away quicker while sitting. And at $43 an hour, it could add up with matching tip. The place is still worth a visit to me, but not really for the novice. But if you are adventurous, give it a try.

Fantasy. Head up. As of June 1st, the clock fee goes from $36 to 39 an hour. No notice on raising the $13 entrance fee. I've been spending a bit of time here lately. The girls are truly much better looking (IMHO) than those at the Grand. White Russians, Latinas, a couple of cute young fair skinned black girls, and I saw 1 large breasted (looked natural) Asian girl. The place is darker than the Grand, and the music they play is pretty much the music they have been playing there for the last decade. You can't sit unless you buy a drink which is why the tables are usually empty. But drink prices are less expensive than at the Grand. There are a few girls here that I like spending time with, and seems like every time I clock a girl in, I come up with a new favorite. I do, however have 2 ATF's here (although one is slowly falling out of favor as she has too many guys sniffing at her butt, and I hate jousting for her time). Most girls here want sizeable tips compared to the Grand to provide you with any kind of satisfaction (regardless if it only takes you 15 or 20 minutes) so don't think you can be made happy and float the girl a 5, 10 or even a 20. You will be a once and done customer cause word will spread fast about you and your frugal nature. As has been noted before, white guys will feel much more comfortable here than at the Grand, but also older guys will feel more at home here regardless of ethnicity.

Overall, I still will miss these places when they are gone. They give single guys who might be "out of step" with the rest of the world, a place to go to make a more authentic feeling emotional connection with a cute young girl, which is something I have never found to be available at the hard hustling strip clubs around town, or at any of the strictly timed MP's. And even with the rate hikes, they are still the best value in town. Enjoy!!

The old 907 club is now a restaurant, their parking is now condos.

The old Las Palmas is now condos.

The two clubs that were on Main street are condos.

In another words, ain't going to be new clubs in DTLA. Case closed.

In next five to ten years you'll be seen new condos, not clubs. Remaining club may close soon as well.

Yup, good ol'e days with at least a dozen clubs in the area in the past. Me and my few buddies back then hit one club checking out the girls and moved on to another. One buddy was hooked on Club Las Palmas.

The good ol'e days are long gone, 15 years or more in the past.

I had at least 4-5 "girlfriends" at the same time when the Hostess Scene was going strong.

It was a real GFE experience where I would take ladies on dinner dates, vacations, weekend trips.

Some ladies are now married and I am friends with their husbands and kids 😀
