    Draft picks

If you are the patriots I suppose a second round pick is practically a good third round pick.

It's probably a bit of an overpay. But when you have a 42 yo QB who is, in his own words, is "close to the end", it's not. Also, draft picks are not for drafting players. They are capital assets. Sometimes you use them to draft players, sometimes you use them for acquiring players in other ways. Hoarding them to draft players is silly. As is hoarding them just to hoard them. Damn. ATL I kinda feel bad for them. It's even sad because Sanu almost made the game-winning catch in the Super Bowl. Not many people remember that because the OL was caught with a holding penalty on Chris Long.

    Mahomes Injury

It was coming for couple of games now. If you keep playing already limping QB. He'd just injure himself more and you'd lose more in the end. I don't see Mahomes having a long carrier though. He's fun to watch indeed but he's not careful enough. Also I don't think he has that internal something that makes people around him better. I only know two QBs that have that leadership quality when you say "I want him for my president and I don't care what he stands for". Naturally both are my favorites in NFL: one is TB, the other is Russell Wilson. Both's got that "officer that you dream of to be your CO" quality when you're in the military. You knew that about both of them the first time you saw them. Notice that both don't get injured much too. Mahomes's just ain't got it. He got the moves sure. He got the arm. Definitely. But that intangible is one in a million. Aaron Rogers by the way also ain't got it IMHO. BTW, I'm watching Josh Allen from Buffalo in that regard too but the way I figure if you don't project that without a doubt already that means that it's just not there.

There were several of marginal QBs of the past that I felt had 'that' too. Kitna, Garcia and the guy I think didn't got a bona fide chance in the NFL because of all the theater that he brought along with him Tim Tibow. I don't want the later for my Pres LOL but that's more personal political rather than having to do with Tibow's leadership abilities that I believe are way above average.

It's nice to be 6-0. I'll take the win. Our defense was great again tonight!. Amazing I should say. This wasn't a pretty win by any means. That first half was irritating but a win is a win. Pats HAVE to bolster the offensive as there are obviously a few holes that need plugging. Hopefully, none of the injuries are that serious either. Thank goodness Josh didn't get injured. Sheesh!. Anyway, a layoff then, it is off to the Jets in could be one of those strange games that'll be scrappy after a 10-day layover. GO PATS!.

Good road trip for the Bruins. 3-1, hell I'll take it. Damn refs and their offside calls........Assclowns!.

    5-0

    Instant thoughts.

Patriots won this game 33-7 playing a B minus game. They could have won this 50-0 if they did just a few things better. I still am mad about that non-call on the TD. Was an OBVIOUS and BLATANT hold to open up that hole. Dorsett is the only injury they had today. I doubt he'll be ready for Thursday with a hamstring. Hopefully, it is minor and he can be back after the Giants. They can't afford to lose him for long. The OL had maybe their best and worst halves of the year IMO. I'm not happy overall with the play but I think it will be worked out. Hopefully, when Wynn comes back it will really start to look good. Karras particularly was worrying. There is no option really to upgrade him. He had his worst game today and just needs to play better. White had a heavy workload today. Hopefully, Burkhead is back for Thursday. I don't want to see them have to look him a lot back to back games with such a short break.

Kicker issues. Well, not really much worse than Gost had been this year. I'm not sold on Nugent being the answer for the rest of the year. I hope they aren't afraid to try someone else. They probably will see how he does against the Giants, but he needs to be better than he was today. One missed an extra point and one almost missed extra that had to clang in. Christ. Edelman with a nice 100-yard game. Really starting to come into form. Hopefully, after Thursday the rest will do him some good. Defense again was absolutely fantastic. Gilmore was maybe their worst CB today. Not to say he played badly. That is just how good the other guys played. On to the Giants. This game I feel is going to be sketchy.

    Stay somewhat humble

LOL. Man, let us not take our 20+ years of winning for granted. I've been a fan since 1982 when The Patriots were funky asscrack!. Those 1-15,2-14-5-11 seasons were gut-wrenching. We were on NO one's radar, given no respect, not given chances, and never given a thought. We were called "The Patsies" lovable losers etc. Under the Sullivans, Victor Kiam and James Orthwein, we were the laughingstock of the NFL. Look at us now. Since Kraft brought the team, it has been nothing but a remarkable 20+ year run, we ARE the Juggernaut of the NFL, Opposing teams despise us and, I love every minute of it!. When Tom's time is up, who will e our next QB?. Like it or not, the future of our continuing dominance has got to start now.

They certainly did their homework. Tom Coughlin is no pushover, that is for damn sure.
