The only touchdown the Cheifs scored was when their plane landed at the airport!. Tampa Bay absolutely manhandled the Chiefs!. As for Tom, he's in a class all by himself!. Bill Russell status!. Unfuckingreal!.

Brady has always made good decisions under pressure and generally takes care of the ball like most great nfl quarterbacks do. It is amazing to me that he has been able to continue to be super competitive in spite of all the money he has accumulated over his career. Most people would get complacent. I do think Brady going to Tampa lit a bit of a fire under him which didn't hurt.

Simply amazing with new team, no pre-season play, and getting to know his new team as the season progressed, and winding up in the Super Bowl. I can't wait for the game.
I think the fact that Brady's "tropical" team was able to put Brady on its shoulders and carry him to victory over Green Bay in "freezing" Green Bay when Brady himself really sucked (how many interception did he throw towards the end again?) speaks more about Brady than anything that he could possibly do on the field.

It's a team sport indeed but if a leader of the team can make the members of his team play at their maximum when he himself is really not at his best, that is effing amazing imo. You should listen to how his new coach describes their relationship and what he does when Brady decides to take over coaching. Mark my words this guy is going to win some SBs coaching after he is done playing too. He reminds me a bit of Franz Beckenbauer, the German soccer great of the 70's who led his team to FIFA World Cups both as his national team captain and later as its the coach. I repeat what I said numerously before. Brady for president if he'd ever want that thankless job, and I really don't care what his political positions would be too. People with Brady's type of leadership abilities are born rarely. Very very rarely.

I could only think of Claude Lemieux in ice hockey, the player that we here in Boston love to hate, who won Stanley Cup for scores of different teams that he played for, as someone who is somewhat Brady-like. I remember reading how towards the end of his hockey carrier promising teams would trade for him just so they could have him in their dressing rooms. As former military I can assure you that such abilities are very rare.

The Patriots were going nowhere with an overcooked turkey run-first quarterback or a failed, turnover-prone fourth-round project. Especially with bottom barrel skill players that won't help and a defense that's very far from elite. Hightower is a really good player; some other opt-outs are also good contributors. It's unlikely any of them would have made a difference in the win / loss record. The team didn't even suffer major injuries or lose a major franchise player. People point to Cam Newton missing one game as some turning point in the season. The funny thing is, the Patriots were only able to obtain Newton for almost nothing because of Covid. They had no cap room and would have been playing Stidham otherwise, who is worse than an offseason-less Newton.

The excuses are ridiculous. The roster has been thinning for years with bad drafts, and there's no elite QB to elevate them. The team needs a major rebuild. If Belichick thought this was a contending roster ruined by Covid, the team is in big trouble. But I'm sure he doesn't actually think they're just a normal offseason away from putting it together. Probably just an out of context, sensationalized quote. Bill isn't the type to live in a fantasy world.

Jimmy G, Jacoby, or should the Pats just enter the draft?. P.S. Celts lose to the Queens. Ugh!.

There's going to be a looooooooooot to talk about in the offseason on where the Patriots will stand. Yes, I know its been just one year but, the Pats better get on track or, its going to be a lackadaisical 2021-2022.
Agree on Butler in SBLII. I wonder if we'd ever know the truth. I suspect Butler said something that really pissed Bill off maybe something about him Butler being mighty important and maybe even pissed Brady off too but this is just my own speculations.

As for Bill vs. Tom just remember that Bill didn't do much when Bernie Kosar was his QB too and if I remember correctly Bernie was a pretty good QB. Bill Parcells took Bledsoe to the Superbowl while Bill wasn't even on route to make playoffs with Bledsoe as his QB until Tom showed up. With Cam throwing to shitty receivers I don't know if you can blame Cam for much too.

Even if Tom loses the SB (which I don't think he will because I bet it's Pat Mahomes who is getting jitters of facing Tom in the SB and not the other way around) Tom already did more than did Montana when he went to the KC minus Jerry Rice so let's stop the talk of comparing the two. They're not even in the same league as far as I'm concerned. Also between you and I I thought that Tom kind of sucked in Green Bay (3 interceptions in the row at the end of the game with at least two being totally his fault imo) and the fact that Tampa still won shows that Tom's intangibles are just so overwhelming that his team would carry him home even when he sucks.

This guy is a quintessential leader. I bet he's going to coach somebody into Superbowl a time or two after he retires. Again it's "Tom for pres" in my book and I could've cared less what he stands for in politics.

I will be rooting Brady. I personally hate the Brady vs Belichick discussions. Never made any sense to me. Yes, Brady took over a 7- 9 team. But Tampa last year was an underachieving team with a lot of talent that was hampered by poor quarterback play and also lost some really close games. They have so many weapons on offense and a really good defense. Patriots, on the other hand, had very little weapons on offense. Run game was decent but no passing game made them one dimensional. If the Patriots can fill the need at QB, WR and TE, they will be back in the hunt. They have the 15th pick in the draft and a ton of cap space to work with. Not to mention they had a ton of players opt out this past year that are coming back. I don't think Belichick really care about this past season.

Belichick won 11 games with Matt Cassel.

I doubt if Cassel won 10 games combined the rest of his career.

    Tatum for the dagger!

Hell of a shot from JT with less than 3 on the clock and well as a great game!. Of course, this is just game 1. The Celtics have to figure out how to maintain a good lead and not let off the gas such as what happened last night!. I believe some members have mentioned this before.

    Gordon Hayward to Charlotte!?

Hayward has reportly signed a 4 yr deal for $120 M.

That is very disappointing for Celts, but great deal for Hayward.

Based on the reports, thought it was going to be sign and trade to Pacers.

    Damn.

    Online Sports Betting

So, I'm at home on my PC and I come across a feed on sports betting not passing in Massachusetts. Let me get this right.

    Marijuana is A-ok in Massachusetts.

    Casinos are A-ok in Massachusetts.

But Sports gambling is where we pump the brakes?. Who the hell is running this state, Sloth from the Goonies?!

The irony is that in Boston, there is an online sports betting organization that's been in Boston, Massachusetts for 8 years, ever heard of them. Draft Kings?. Yeah. So, there's that.

    Fuckin' hell, man.

Hopefully they can build on this. They were at least in their games where they lost and could have had more wins if they did not mess up at the end.

Their first superbowl year they were 5-5. So they are on pace! LOL.

But there definitely is more and better competition now. Will be tough to just make the playoffs.

    Alex is back.

Is anyone surprised to see Alex coaching the Sox again?. The writing was on the wall and knowledgeable sox fans expected this, most know Cora is good. Most know the players love him. Most know he can handle Boston. Was it a sign of desperation?. Nah. He served his time and paid the price. People will call him a cheater, this that and the other but, hell, there were far worse incidents in baseball history.
