I drove past the other day to check out the changes and it appeared shut down.

Yes, it's been an institution for so long, we just expected it would always endure. Well, we'll have to see what it metamorphs into. And I always wanted to see Femcar too, but never managed to get there from South Bend at the same time.

This place will be missed. I liked it better than 15th. It was a friendly atmosphere.

Sorry, I am not on the CT'S post, so I don't know what is changing. So what happened last night, any couples in the theater? Are the librarians still at work? I have had some good times there, even driving 50 miles out of my way just to past by. So where are the playing couples going to go now? Any info is appreciated.

According to their post the change was effective 5-1 (although Pete accidentally listed 4-1). Don't know if they are actually changing the physical layout, but a lot of couples & single women that have been regulars have been posting their farewells. Based on the discussions I've seen, It sounds like the theater play is now a thing of the past. I'm going to try to stop in some time in the next week. I'll post if I find anything else out.

Purely a guess but I think it has more to do with the fact that CT's has dancers. What baffles me is it seems strange that the city would say 'you have to be a bar if you want to have dancers'. If I understand, didn't the Man Cave have all sorts of trouble getting a liquor license? Maybe he just figures he'll make more on the drinks & dances than on the theater admission.

Yes The Mancave is still battling it out for a liquor license and I understand it will eventually be just a juice bar strip club if the city continues blocking liquor access. As of now CTs is selling liquor with only a liquor license, no business, adult use, or oks from building inspectors. So stay tuned for the day that place is shut down.

I also am wondering about the Gary ordinances. I don't go to Romantix but have to wonder if that's affected seeing it also is in Gary? Or the other adult video place off Burr street. Would seem the city of Gary should have other priorities, but that's just my opinion.

Was online today & came across an official announcement from CT's. They are in fact changing the format. Don't know if this will change the what goes on there. I guess time will tell. Here's the announcement;.
"Due to city of GARY new ordinances for SEXUAL ORIENTED BUSINESS we had to change CT's to a regular ""GENTLEMAN's CLUB"" (alcohol and dancers).
CT's thanks and appreciates ALL of YOU from the bottom of our hearts for your PATRONAGE for all the 17 years and for the GOOD TIMES we all had!
