My situation is not the usual one, but it is not unique either. My Chinese wife is an angel. She is loyal, takes care of me, shares my values, and helps me fulfill them. I've lived my entire life among them and there are a few clear differences. Chinese woman are open and tell you what they're thinking (in both good and bad ways), as opposed to Japanese women who will not tell you anything if they think you wouldn't like hearing it (unless things get really bad). Both women care about money but it's quite different. A Japanese woman is usually not dumb enough to marry a poor man, but as long as that condition is met the relationship going forward is rarely centered on money. Whereas Chinese women can have distorted and unrealistic demands about money (often at the berating of their parents and peers), and relationships can often center around money (love is shown through money in superficial ways with expectations). Chinese women want to brag about your money to their family and friends, which is a bit too vulgar for Japanese women who do it discreetly. And most of all, the biggest difference. Most Chinese women don't hesitate to openly argue or fight over things, whether real or on principle. Japanese women know not to argue and a woman that does is considered a freak and un-womanly. I knew from a very young age I didn't want a Chinese wife. They have many good qualities I haven't listed (cooking, loyalty, love of children) but there are several big deal-breakers I just listed.
