I have never had something so elaborate come up for me, but I have definitely had to call bullshit and trust my instinct there would be no blowback. I would document things, carefully lock it away and move on to block, no further engagement. But I always had a safety. Get a burner phone or use the app is my best tip for you. Ounce of prevention worth more than a pound of cure type of thing. Got to do this until you establish trust and identity, requisite for real sugar to flow. I had this one reach out and message me. She immediately sent me her number which I thought was a bit odd because I hadn't even yet replied to her original message. We started messaging offline and I noticed that she did seem a bit young from the pictures and I double checked her profile and it said she was 19 years old. She was steering the entire conversation and immediately said she was looking for a fwb type of arrangement and looking for naughty fun. I kept my replies really basic and never said anything sexual until she started to send me nude pics of herself and telling me what she liked sexually. Despite that, I still kept my replies pretty vague and didn't reference anything sexual myself just because it all felt way too fast and it just felt off to me. Eventually she sent me even more pics of her naked and this is where I was a complete dumbass and eventually sent a few picks back. We talked for a few more minutes and she said she wanted to meet up in the next coming days and I told her to just reach out whenever she wanted to do so.

Fast forward to the following morning and I figured that was probably the end of our interaction. Later that afternoon to my complete surprise I get a phone call from a local number I didn't recognize and to my shock it was someone on the other line claiming to be a Sgt. With SDPD. He immediately started asking me if I had been messaging someone (he mentioned the girls name. Julia) the night before from SA. I didn't know where this was going so I said yes and he then proceeds to tell me that she is actually an underage girl and that because the discussion had moved off the site platform I'm responsible being the adult and I'm facing criminal charges if her parents decide to press charges..

If you're communicating with a woman, and you have some indication her age is over 18, like it's posted in her profile, and you don't confirm it with her that is okay. But if you do ask her age and she says it's below 18, now it's clear you know she is under age and puts you in potential trouble if you continue to engage her.

If you're led to believe she is over 18, and she initiates all the sex talk, and nude picture transfers, you're not in any trouble, even if you respond in kind. If you're led to believe she's an adult and you start the sex talk and send sexually explicit pictures to her, you're not in trouble.

If you know she's under 18 and you participate in sex talk, and the exchange of nude pictures you are in potential trouble.

Generally, LE stings will, do some things to be sure it's all on you trying to engage an underage person with sexually explicit material. At some point the actress will make it clear she is under age and lets you confirm in some way that you understand and intend to continue. They'll say something like I'm only X, does that bother you?

Then they'll try to get you, to get the conversation to something sexual. They'll say something like what do "you" want to talk about? And they'll let you carry the conversation. When you ask them what they want to talk about they'll say something vague, like "anything". Or I don't know. They want you to start the sexual topics going. They may ask, what do you look like? Do you have a picture, waiting to see what you'll send them.

If you send sexually explicit picture before they do, you'll potentially always be in some sort of trouble. If you have acknowledged that you know they are under age and still send explicit pics, well you're asking for real trouble.

If they post they are 19, start the conversation with sexual talk, and send nudes to you and you engage in kind, you can have fun, but you also have to be careful. Because if at some point they confess they are really underage you must stop everything and avoid all contact from that point forward. The best thing to do at this point is to bail completely, sorry I didn't know you were under age I can't talk to you any more, bye. Cut it off completely and refuse any further contact. Continuing contact with a person once you know is underage is the real problem and what gets guys in trouble. They stay engaged and go on, and on, and soon LE has enough evidence of intent, and your goose is cooked.

The real flag to look for, is that they want you to say, or do everything first. So if they won't talk dirty but imply you can, don't. If they won't send a pic unless you do, don't. If their talk isn't sexual and their pics are G rated, you better talk and send the same.

Warning about pics, never send a face shot in a sexual pic, and always be careful of what is in the background. Especially if you want to avoid extortion or blackmail.

Your case was little different from a LE sting, but either way glad you didn't get stung in the scam.

The officer then eventually messaged me back saying the girls father would call me which he did a few minutes later. I answered the call and the first thing I noticed that seemed off was that the "father" was calling me from the same phone that his underage daughter was messaging me from the night before. He came on the phone immediately yelling and threatening me that I was trying to take advantage of his daughter. I knew I had been completely mislead but at this point I knew I was fucked since I'm the adult and I should have just been smarter. He kept saying that he was going to make sure I spent as much time in jail and press charges against me to make sure my life was ruined. Eventually he calmed down enough to let me talk and hear my side of the story and I must admit that he had me panicking because if I were a father I'd feel the exact same way. He started selling me this story that he and his wife had caught his daughter the night before being sneaky in her room when she didn't come down to dinner. When they supposedly went into her room, low and behold they found her messaging my ass while she was taking naked pictures of herself. The father then said that the girl had locked herself in the bathroom and try to commit suicide so she was now in the hospital and he wasn't going to let me ruin her life. Mind you, this entire time through out his yelling and threats he was making this shit sound extremely convincing and I knew this looked extremely bad for me so when he eventually said that if I helped pay for the rehab treatment that his daughter would need going forward to get her help he wouldn't press charges if I committed to paying $5200 for the therapy. This is when I stated to feel like I was being taken and they were trying to extort my ass because how would that even be an option especially with the officer having mentioned that maybe the father and I could work it out another way to avoid any misunderstandings or unwanted charges. So nothing in writing or offer to ask for legal advice and setting with the father another way would prevent all the potential trouble I could get into. Ok, this sounds like a scam to me know but I agreed to make the payment and the father sent a PayPal account to send the money to. Once off the call, I immediately contacted the SDPD and asked to speak to the officer who had originally called me and I gave his name, rank, and badge number and surprise, surprise, just as I was staring to suspect there was no officer there by that name or badge number. The real officer I was speaking with to this time told me that I was most likely being extorted and mentioned that it was a real common scenario called "sextortion". I was just advised to not communicate with either number and to block them. Before I could do that I made sure to message those pieces of shit back because for a while they had me panicking and definitely gave me a major scare. I told them I was on to their scam and if they wanted to press charges on me that I'd meet them down at the police station if it was real. Of course, I heard nothing back after that but it definitely was a eye opening experience because something like that had never happened to me and everyone just needs to be careful and obviously not be as dumb as I was for putting myself in that situation. Be careful who you message, always ask for age and verification and never ever send pics or anything that will compromise you. Luckily, for me I didn't send any face pics of myself but it was enough had this been real to have ruined my life and that wasn't my intention at all.

This brings back some memories. I was out of the hobby for a few years and when I came back, I quickly learned the new games scammers were playing. Since I'd already had a few of those fake cartel people send me threatening texts with pics of beheaded and disemboweled bodies, I was pretty sure when I got the call you did, it was fake. I kept my cool, got the alleged badge number and looked it up. It did not belong to who they said it did. Yes, you can look up SDPD and most major LE badge numbers with the officers name attached. Quite easy. The guy I talked to never got as far with me as he did with you. I never got nervous or concerned and just played along for about 10-15 minutes. Rather entertaining to be honest.

If you text or call some of the numbers on EA or other sites enough, you'll eventually get one of these calls or threatening texts. I laugh them off now. When I first got on them, I spent about 2 weeks going through all the local ads, weeding out the scams and reporting them. A lot of ads got removed because of means the people posting them were pissed. Many are in the UK.

I can't help but wonder what their motivation is for endless texting. I suppose to eventually get the guy to part with some cash over a sob story or other online scam.

Yeah! I usually exchange messages or texts 5-7 times then ask for meeting. If she ignores it, then I move on. More than 50% of girls do not want to meet. I tested one girl by telling her my last arrangement was 1,200 per meet. She asked me to meet right away.
