Drove through downtown today and saw Rhonda out and about. Shes looking pretty rough these days. I would have stopped being as though it's been a while, but I had a dentist appt. To keep. When I drove back through about an hour later, she was gone. Apparently she is not working Wheeling anymore, or maybe was just up here for the day. Anyone else seen her lately?

Well, I tried for my first run today. And found several nice. Actually nice wsws but was too nervous to go in for the pick-up. Sigh. Between not knowing where the cameras are to the guys walking with them I just chickened out. If anybody has any helping words, just let me know, cause I lost a nice one to a guy in a minivan. And that just sucks.

They get around the Day/Night problem by beaming a ray of infrared light at the target, which makes no difference to it, if its day or night, or should I say, makes it a lot less significant. The way they accomplish this is by using a lot of IR LED's, same type that is on the remote controls of your TV, that the camera can see, but you can't. I think a mess of these IR LED's around your license plate would do the trick. Although, any camera could see them, including any cop camera / mobile unit, which my set off a red flag. Fued for thought.

You're correct but IR LED's only illuminate about 50 feet, barely enough to cover an intersection or two lane road. There are some really good light intensifier camera that don't need IR LEDs. In reality, cops are looking for cars crusing around the block mulitple times more than a specific tag number.

It may not do it automatically, but Hi-Resolution cameras are relatively cheap now. So, they probably don't have the license plate recognition software yet.... I think its highly possible that they have a few cameras recording photos of all license plates onto a dvr, you can buy a system like this for $2500, for later review.

What cost $100,000 today, can be purchased for $1,000 in the tech world. There is software out there now, for 2,000 that analyzes the video, its nothing more than optical character recognition software, that has been available for the PC for years

True, OCR has come a long way but to do it day/nite on the street would be a real trick to accoplish every time. I always try to keep a clear but slightly hazy license plate cover over my tag....buy a cheap one and leave it in direct sunlight a while and clean it with glass cleaner to haze up the acrylic. Works great and doesn't darkend your tag, just makes it a lil fuzzy.

I have seen 2 so far, I can't seem to find the 3rd. One is at Adams and Maxwell (pleasant Heights). One is next to the Maryland Market on Maryland Ave. (Hilltop area) They stand out, they are not trying to hide them. They are quite large and near the top of a utility pole.

I'm guessing this might put a strain on the "hobby"

Cameras yes, they are everywhere but the advanced software and hi-resolution system needed to recognize and look up license plate numbers is very expensive. I hardly believe that the budget in Steubenville would support paying several hundred thousand dollars for an advanced system that can read and report license plates to cops on the street.

Cowboy Bob used to work for Judy Jordan. He was the Doorman. He later ran a PRo Wrestling organization called IYFW he died about 5 yrs ago of Cancer. He never was school teacher but he worked in one of the area schools for many years as a Custodian.

There use to be a School teacher at "JU" that had the nickname CowBoy Bob. They always said he ran a whorehouse or recruited girls. Anyone ever heard of this character? Just wondered if it was true, hahaah.

From what I hear from the old timers, you would have to go way back to find the best days for mongering in the Ohio Valley. Heard about the brothels in Steubenville where you could get a clean, beautiful, young, disease free girl for a couple of bucks in the good ol days. From what I hear, guys used to come from as far as Indiana to get laid in some of these places. Those must have been some great days considering the bullshit we have to put up with now.
