I haven't been to Platinum Rose for over a month, but good just to fine the skinny dancers! As with any club, some girls are friendly and some have attitudes. Extras are not likely in their rather open VIP area -- tho take out is on some of the menus.

I drove along Lamar and saw several sws both white and black in Chloe near the Crown Motel. They got pick up so fast it was like magic. There was nothing on Brooks or Airways. I saw a few bsws on Elvis Presley and Bellvue nothing worth mentioning. What was different was I saw several girls driving cars trying to make dates including Diamond who was driving a black Maxima. I talked with Honey in the Crown Motel parking lot but she seem to be keeping a low key and not dating at the time. For the most part Memphis was not a good place to pickup sws because of the traffic and low visability of girls compared to hobbyists that were looking.

D.A. Shuts Down "King of Clubs" - Again!

MEMPHIS - For the third time in two years, Shelby County District Attorney Bill Gibbons shuts down the "King of Clubs" on Brooks Road in South Memphis. Gibbons says the strip club is a haven for prostitution.

"We've tried to work with the owners in the past, but this time we'll seek to shut down the King of Clubs for good," says Gibbons.

The King of Clubs was shut down by the D.A.'s office in August, 2003 and April, 2004 under the Tennessee Nuisance Law.

Police say they've conducted undercover prostitution stings at the King of Clubs in the past eight weeks. In the course of the undercover operation police say they made four prostitution arrests.

The King of Clubs is owned by Charles Westlund of Long Beach, California. Westlund is the same man who wants to open a strip club in Downtown Memphis. Westlund is suing the city because the city has revoked his license to open the downtown club on Marshall Avenue.

The raid on The King of Clubs comes one day after the Memphis City Council issued a moratorium for new gentlemen's clubs.

The attorney for Westlund says they will fight the D.A. and try to have the King of Clubs re-opened.
