I have created a Google Maps with the arrest data from the SPD dataset from 2012-2023. I have done my best to reproduce the data in it's entirety. It is missing some arrests still due to this being a rough draft and the complexity of working with data of this size. I will fine tune the python script I have written to include the missing arrests over the coming days. I will also what the dataset says the offense is later. There are three offenses for prostitution in the dataset. Assisting or Promoting Prostitution, Prostitution, and Purchasing Prostitution. The vast majority of entries just say "Prostitution" for the offense. Now that you can visualize where the prostitution is in the city you can see that South Jackson Street in China Town has the most prostitution activity outside of Aurora. The Latitude and Longitude comes directly from the datasets at the time of the arrest.

There are about 469 arrests that are not currently on the map due to most of them being entered into the dataset at the same latitude and longitude (most commonly popular sting spots like KK). This is why the KK does not show any arrests currently because they were all entered in the same lat and long in the data. I am using python and regular expressions to process all of this data. It's tricky.

I wasn't even criticizing you bro. You are super super sensitive. All I said was there is way way better then her out there which objectively is facts. I was actually being nice about it. She looks like a cafeteria lady and a shapeless blob! She's the definition of bleh. According to the timestamps on the individual arrests in the data, the vast majority of arrests seem to occur between 5 pm-9 pm. There are some isolated records with a timestamp of midnight, but those are limited, and all of those took place around 137th. So, arrests for patronizing / sexual exploitation do happen outside of the normal commute times but they are rare. When I consulted a lawyer a few months ago, he told me that SPD are generally "sloppy" about their stings, they set them up quickly and net as many guys as possible in the shortest amount of time possible. They get things wrong from time to time because, as he said, they generally have a careless attitude about it. I don't know what's true, just repeating what I was told. But it's important to note that SPD can change their tactics at any time, so although this data does, I think, provide good intel, they can suddenly switch it up. I think that when the motels were open and active it was easy for SPD to net a lot of arrests without having to do too much because people were generally careless about how they went about it out there. One thing the lawyer told me was that a lot of his clients actually believed that prostitution had been decriminalized because the cops didn't appear to be doing anything, so they approached any girl out there without any fear. Then, of course, they got popped. So, preaching to the choir here, always be as vigilant as possible.

They typically occur during the afternoon to early evening commute. I haven't looked at the full set of data from SPD but I haven't seen any stings conducted during the early am or late PM.

Some are probably sick of my posting this but I really do think that it's always worth repeating - back in September I extracted data from a file provided by SPD / City of Seattle and found that the only arrests involving prostitution / sexual exploitation anywhere in Seattle city limits going back to 2020 have only occurred along Aurora Ave. Accordingly, I was able to determine that stings primarily occurred in three locations along Aurora: In the Lowe's / KK lot (the largest number of arrests in recent years), the area around 137th and the 100 blocks south of 105th. The former two are the most popular sting spots by a long-shot going back o 2019. Just a heads-up to be super extra vigilant when approaching or being approached by any female in any of those locations.
