I agree with most of what everyone is saying, and I would just add that everything we say about "them" can actually perfectly describe "us" as mongers, including the two statements above. Our own participation in this stuff has molded our lifestyles and likely damaged us in ways that maybe not everyone among us is ready to recognize and really grapple with. This includes stuff like our entitlement to women's bodies (implicit in the transaction even if we're adamant that we would never), our objectification of women here (the reviews process almost requires it), and our own desires for immediate gratification. I'm complicit in this too, so I'm not even like absolving myself so much as trying to name a hard truth that no one here seems to be calling out directly. Everyone's philosophizing on how "hoes will be hoes," which I do agree with in general, but we seem to also be avoiding the harder work of critiquing ourselves and our roles as mongers in all of this. It's kind of hard to do the work of thinking about the shit we're responsible for in this whole cycle, too.

Notably, too, we generate the demand that keeps girls here or keeps them coming back for more money. We know this deeply: without us, these girls would not be here (or there or wherever there are men. Some of us enable by buying gifts (small or large) for girls, showering them with attention, and even simping for them (I'm not condemning or endorsing these actions here, by the way). So I think that we (at least in part) help produce the conditions that produce "hoes. " Not that it doesn't mean we can't all get together in an online circlejerk and lament how all they want is money, but we should also maybe think about how we give them the money to enable it.
