I guess LE have nothing better to do up there. There's barely any action up there as it is. Almost every time I'am stuck in Maine I end up swinging over to Canada for a little action. But I always have some pretty good luck bar hopping up there.

Waterville police arrest 3 in pair of prostitution stings 10/6/05


WATERVILLE -- Police late Thursday arrested two women and a man and charged them with engaging in prostitution in two separate undercover operations conducted at a local hotel.

Police Chief John E. Morris said the movement of massage parlors in town and the increasing number of newspaper advertisements for rubdown parlors and escort services prompted police to investigate what the businesses are doing.

Massage parlors have been in town several years. Morris said the sudden clamp-down is taking place because people are complaining to police that Gentleman's Choice, a massage parlor formerly located on College Avenue, recently moved to a space over CVS pharmacy downtown on Main Street.

"So, last night, Waterville police and a state police detective engaged in a prostitution sting, between 4 and 9 p.m.," Morris said Friday.

Police sat down in the hotel room and started calling numbers from the newspaper ads. The first person they called was a woman who billed herself as "Bodacious," an escort, according to Morris. He said she was in business for herself, independent of any massage parlors.

An officer made an appointment for her to meet him at the hotel, the identity of which police do not want to make public, according to Detective William Bonney, who worked on the case.

"In the room, the undercover state police detective negotiated a price for a sex act and those are the elements of prostitution; and she agreed to $150 for it," Bonney said.

Police arrested the woman, Deborah A. Lessard, 38, of 88 Augusta Road, Winslow, and charged her with engaging in prostitution, Morris said.

Contacted Friday through her number listed on the advertisement, Lessard said she did not want to comment on the matter.

"I don't even want my name in this," she said. "I'm all set."

Morris said police continued looking at the advertisements Thursday night and contacted Gentleman's Choice, a massage parlor that advertises exotic rubdowns.

"I have a real interest in what's going on in those massage parlors, so we called Gentleman's Choice and asked for an 'out call,' " he said. "At approximately 8:30 p.m., this gentleman, Glen Todd Hines, drove Sarah E. Overlock to the hotel."

Overlock gave Hines $135 to go back to the car and wait and then negotiated with the undercover officer for a price for a sex act, Morris said.

"They (Overlock and Hines) were both arrested for engaging in prostitution," he said.

Overlock, who recently turned 20, has an address of 35 Burleigh St., No. 3; Hines, 42, lives at 318 Hanson Rd., China.

As part of their bail conditions, Hines and Overlock are not to go to Gentleman's Choice or have contact with the owner, Fred Horne.

"Horne came in to bail out Mr. Hines last night, but it was not allowed because Hines' bail conditions were no contact," Morris said.

Horne said Friday that he was unaware Overlock engaged in prostitution and if he had known she was doing it, she would not have been working at Gentleman's Choice. He said he has never had a problem like this.

All the women -- 15 to 20 at any one time -- who work there are independent contractors, according to Horne.

"I don't pay those girls anything," he said. "I've been in business four years and I try to stay clear of any wrongdoing."

Gentleman's Choice offers exotic rubdowns for men who want to come in and relax, but there is no prostitution involved, he said.

"I've got girls here who have families that live normal lives. I've got people who go to church regularly and take care of their families," Horne said.

Overlock had worked at Gentleman's choice for five months, he said. Police last week warned people at the massage parlors in town that they were monitoring them, according to Horne.

Horne said he went to talk to police Thursday night and told them they did not need a search warrant to search the business; that they could come in any time they wanted and look around.

Gentleman's Choice recently moved from 189 College Ave., where it was situated across from the former Marden's Surplus & Salvage, to 90 Main St. downtown. There are two other massage parlors in town -- Relaxalon, located over the Subway Sandwich shop at the corner of Main and Temple streets; and Exotic Touch, located on College Avenue, near the former Puffin Stop. Relaxalon has been in business about 10 years, according to a woman who answered the phone there Friday.

Morris said he has no problem with massage parlors if what they do is massage, but police are going to continue paying attention to their activities.

"This is just the beginning," Morris said. "We are not finished. Other arrests can be anticipated. There is concern for the reputation of Main Street -- the reputation and the poor appearance that this kind of activity will have on the city and Main Street," he said.

Engaging in prostitution is a Class E misdemeanor, punishable by a fine. Bonney said the initial fine is not large, but a second offense carries a bigger penalty.

"If people are going to continue on this course of activity and be caught more than once, the penalty increases," he said.

Lessard, Overlock and Hines are scheduled to appear in Waterville District Court on the prostitution charges Dec. 21. Lessard and Overlock were released Thursday night on personal recognizance bail; Hines was released on $500 unsecured bail, which means that if he does not show up for court, he has to pay $500. He paid $40 Thursday to be released, according to police.

My first post here. But anyways about 1-2 years ago I was out on the prowl a lot. (money holding me back now.) but I've been to Lewiston and have picked up a sw a few times. it is hit and miss situation though. never in portland though a few times i thought i was close but it turned out to be just some random girl not working. miss the lisbin amp that was the best. and the only placed the recognized me by face after a few visits. anyways anyone knowing of any other amps that might be opening up please let me know. i know about the freeport one and that one sucks. rather keep money.

Yes Portland is very quiet, lots of LE around. I remember Mary Beth but haven't seen her around for a few years. There are a few SW around the Portland area but it is very hit and miss. Last few times cruisin haven't had any luck. Looks like its time to hit the 495 belt. Good luck and be safe

I am talking about SWs. I can name at least 4 active ones in LA, and one in P-town. Had a little one in P-town for several months before she just stopped answering her phone... the phone is still active, but she does not return calls. If she resurfaces, i will post and share a number with a sr. member. Just checked out one in the Lisbon/Topsham area. Good service, but will not repeat. Lots of outcall services, and the ones that do not advertise are the best for a few $$. I know a number of them that I can recommend to anyone who wants to PM me.

True enough on the SW's, but I've had a few, MaryBeth in Portland comes to mind but that must have been 4 or 5 years ago. And I did fine one this spring at a gas station, but I think that was a lucky hit at the right time rather than someone who was out working.

I saw one Pee Eye Gee from Lewiston posting in a Yahoo chat room, but damn, not my type.

Leanna out of Bridgton though, some of you guys met her I think, was absolutely fan-damn-tastic, but I've lost touch. So even though the pickings in Maine are very slim, there's hope.

They are out there. Few and far between. The bars on Lisbon street have dried up a bit, and Walnut street bars have banned smoking outside. Heavy LE presence at all times it seems, but patience and caution pays off.

Law license suspended in brothel case
The New Hampshire Supreme Court has suspended the license of a Maine lawyer who was convicted in September of operating a brothel and conspiring to launder millions of dollars in profits generated. Gary Reiner had kept his license to practice law in New Hampshire while he faced charges stemming from a raid of the Danish Health Club in Kittery. But the court now says suspending Reiner's license is necessary to protect the public and preserve the integrety of the legal profession. Reiner, a former chairman of the Kittery Town Council, faces up to 20 years in prison and fines up to $250,000. His lawyer argued that Reiner acted only as an attorney for the club. (AP)

That high fence was nice, and after the first visit, I realized all the girls were from Massachusetts, so no way was I gonna bump into them in Market Square.

side question: what keeps the video places going???? I am perplexed. No doors on the booths and their parking lots are always empty. There could not be that many gay men keeping them in business. And Pierce Island is off limits for sexual activity now.

Not close enough to walk but an easy drive over the bridge for me too. I know too many people in Kittery and Eliot so that place was always too close for comfort.

Video places...I know the owners of Spaulding Book and Video and the Fifth Wheel and they both sing the same song...high gross profits on sale items. The booths are more of an "attraction" and not much of a money maker. Amazing how big a markup on the toys and videos and that's where there big return comes from although there appears to be enough gay crusiers to keep them running.

From the looks of last night's paper it appears that Portsmouth PD is turning up the heat on the local hotel scene as well but that is something you already posted.

Maine still has some good values and bang for the buck in the provider/escort arena.

It still amazes me at how many guys leave a paper trail with credit cards but these guys did....they have not been involved in the hearings, but it did scare the crap out of them.

I have to roll over laughing when I read that local PD's were not aware of prostitution...damn you had to live under a rock not to know what was going on there....

I also miss the club. I stopped their for the past 10 years or so. It was convienient for me, 1/2 hour away. I felt like a kid in a candy store coming out to the lounge and picking my treat. I'm not sure that place will ever be replaced, any where in the Maine-Mass area.

about Kittery and the Danish. It is non-stop in the press. But here's the skinny. The town finally asked the state and the Feds to investigate the Kittery Police. It is getting REAL juicey. But like I stated in past posts, there is absolutely NO way anyone with a brain living in the are did not know what was going on. I sense the Kittery PD and maybe some Town Officials are going down.

If I am dwelling on this too much, please post or e-mail and tell me. I just think my fellow mongers might be interested, particullarly those who went there.

For the record, I wish it had been allowed to continue. Yes, it was way over priced, but I loved it. My pick of over 10 girls at a time? YES! I also learned how bad I was taken by the testimony from the trial. Management set the prices, and FS was 1.5. I always went for a double shot. Every time I drive by the vacant building (I live in the area), I get a twinge in my loins. I just thank my stars I wasn't that poor sap who got caught wearing "only a condom" the day of the raid.

at least I have the memories...............
