These "delay delay delay" tactics are a good idea. It can't hurt you even if you are eventually found guilty, but if this happens to you in Las Vegas, forget about it. If a cop fails to show, they are suspended by Metro without pay (I forget for how long) and if they fail to show 3 times, they are likely terminated.

Very good point the longer you delay the worse recollection is.
Witness's die, move, change numbers, etc. Cops retire case's get shuffled.

That theory is also very good in traffic cases.
If you can manage to get 2 delays before entering a plea and one or two after a trial date is set you have delayed a good 4-8 months you might just get lucky and have the cop fail to show which in turn is an automatic dismissal.

If he/she does show and you recognize him/her, just ask the court for traffic school.

Spanky Spank: I am sure that works, but it might not be as effective in California. It depends upon what you do for a living in many cases the first thing that they do when you are busted is notify your employer so that they will suspend you. This means that you no longer have any means of support, and forcs you into the case settlement conundrum that you referred to.

If you have a profession in California, you cannot beat the system via delays.

If you got an address the chances of them checking it out are slim and none.

I would only add, If your gonna do that may as well have two address's one up north and one way south on the track that way no matter what direction your going your always on your way.

Marlowe; I think the term is called "Black & White Fever" Where people get so spooked by seeing a cop car they won't pass it they get paranoid and the cops think something is wrong.

I gotta say it makes sense.

Look someone see's a cop car they start driving 35 or less and get all scared; something must be wrong right?

When they do start following you it is best to play it cool, don't turn off before they do, don't start rubber necking all the street walkers just keep driving by obey the law use your signal, don't give them a reason to stop you.

If your gonna go out and play make sure your ready to play.

Follow all the common sense monger rules and make sure your car is in order.

All your lights work, don't hang fuzzy dice from the rearview mirror, etc.

I monger in Philly and I am not a lawyer, but I know a lot about being busted. I have a friend who's been busted 11 times for DWI and 3 times for mongering in the last ten years and beaten all three mongering charges and all but two DWI's. How did he do it?

The answer is a tactic no lawyer or legal professional will tell you to do. DELAY, DELAY and DELAY!

If people didn't plead out the system would break down. Guilty's pleas make the system work. If everyone went to trial cases would never move. Hence everyone sells pleading guilty to you. Your lawyer no matter who he is will want to do this quickly and move-on. His time is money. NEVER PLEAD GUILTY!

This is what you do. First you ask for your initial appearance to be postponed. You may even be able to do this twice. Hire an initial lawyer, just pay him per appearance to do your first court date. Moving forward when ever you can petition the court for postponements. Site work, family, travels, deaths in the family, any thing you have to. Also file petitions to surpress everything. Any video evidence, statements from female officer, the arresting officer. You can do this yourself, go to a law library. File any petitions you can. Also use two lawyers. Some some loser you hire in the back of the courthouse for your arraignment (offer $50 to stand next for your 90 second arraingment.) Then get a real lawyer for the real stuff. But make sure you show up at least once with no lawyer. Automatic postponement.

Why do all this? This creates additional appearances and delays your trial. You want as many appearances as possible.

You want to go to court as many times as possible. Why? Because eventually someone from the prosecution will not show up. An arresting officer, the decoy, the prosecutor. At that point you petition the judge for dismissle. "Your honor this case has been dragging forever, I'm employed and just can't miss anymore time if the prosecution is not ready. I have a right to a speedy trial." It works so much its scary.

The criminal justice system is overwelled. Use it to your advantage. No one will tell you to do this, because people in the profession hate it, but it works. My friend is able to drag out these cases that usually run 3-4 months to about 12-18 months. You have nothing to lose. Your not going to get a different sentence if you crap out and get found guilty, then if you plead guilty. This might cost you and extra $500-$1,000 in the end and a lot of time, but its better than having this on your record.

I just cruised down San Fernando Rd. Friday afternoon, out of curiousity? It's like Animal ***** House? Something wrong, for sure. I've been going down SF Rd. periodically for over 10 years and have never seen anything like this? Stay away because there is something going down, for sure? The Cops don't let stuff go on like this 4 blocks from a Police Station? Every Cop that leaves the station and turns north on SF rd. looks in there and it must be a topic of discussion at the station? They've used sting operations out of this same Motel in the past? Who knows what rhey are up to this time? A new angle. bust or semi-sting?

Wednesday when I was down there it was bad enough. There were about 5 hookers out or around that area. All Latina's! The Motel was so full, I couln't get a parking space and when i tried to leave someone had me pinned in, luckily they were checking in with another tall blond Latina. Only saw her from behind, it could have been the one Mushroomer was talking about, because that wasn't the one I am talking about?

It's like someone is running a Hooker Ring of some sort with possibly Illeagal hispanic girls and they place them in a different spot each day? I came down Terra Bella and made a right on San Fernado Rd. I saw the one I was with first ,when I turned the corner. She was about 6 blocks from where I saw her last and walking this time? If I'd have driven all the way down San Fernado Rd. once, I'd have high talled it out of there and never stopped? There was a Hisapnic hooker on every corner?

When I was pinned in the Motel Parking lot, trying to turn around, there was even a nice looking young hispanic Hooker sitting on ther stairs that when up to the second story, giving me the eye? I was scared shitless because I smell bust and was glad to get out of there whithout bail money? Avoid this area no matter how tempting it may be?

I agree with Marlowe, but I would take it a step further. When mongering in an area I like to memorize a street address to an apartment complex nearby, I have been stopped by LE and questioned about why I was there in the area. All I do is say I was at my aunts house and am on my way home. Usually they dont buy my story and ask "oh yea? where does your aunt live?" and BLAM I shoot them the address that I memorized. So far they have bought it hook line and sinker every time. I also mess with LE (when I had my car) and they would tailgate me, I would drive slow and they would get pissed and stop me and ask what was wrong I would just say I dunno it just started to stall/die down? trust me I dont like to bring attention to myself. BUT as long as your paper work is in order and you are not doing anything wrong, they cant do JACK to you. Stick to your story. I've had them tell me they would tow my car if I did not leave the area. And I do believe they would find some way to justify giving me a ticket, and make me waste my time in court.

And I might add, if an LE black and white decides to mad dog you (sit right on your rear bumper for several blocks) continue driving, don't change lanes or turn, unless that is your street and you are heading home (and you had better have the correct address on your DL to prove it), and they will either stop you for some bogus reason (field sobriety test, alleged vehicular malfunction, etc.) or they will reach the end of their boundary and pull off. Many times they are just trying to see what you will do, waiting for you to give them an excuse.

Just my opinion, but when it comes to mongers in PIG BRATTON'S universe Miranda and Escobedo are just a couple of loudmouth spics whose statutes get in the way of good police work, and can be ignored with impunity. Has anyone else noticed this?

Just to ease some fears among mongers out there.

When LE conducts Sting operations they usually last 3-4 hours and remain in the same place. They don't drive around conducting stings that is just good old fashioned police work that get's those fellows in trouble see if your not careful and you pick up a s/w in front of a cop black and white or undercover your pretty screwed.

Alot of guys honestly don't know any better and pull right over and start talking to them in plain sight. Usually these unsuspecting johns are the ones that get busted.

Alot of times along Sepulveda blvd. you will see alot of Police activity because of the area, low income high density population gang activity and drugs as well as dui's from the bars not to mention Police like to use Sepulveda blvd. just like all of us do, It's a nice wide street that cut's straight across the valley.

Another point to mention is the LAPD & CHP seem to enjoy eating at the Bagel store there, It does make Great bagels fresh, Western Bagel Co. I think it is. Anyways There are Two Diffrent Police Division's in the area they split enforcement down Roscoe Blvd. so half of the good track belongs to one area the other half of the track belongs to another. In short with so many people calling the cops it's no wonder we see them out so much.

Cruised San Fernando Rd. Today, ran across a Hispanic lady about 35+ Could pass for blonde same corner as mentioned below she was wearing jeans and didn't look to good.

I guess the picture in my mind is not what was out there.

She seemed to be real busy though she kept running guys to a motel a few blocks away and was right back out there.

I would rate her a 4 at best to heavy and plain for me, but everyones tastes vary.

Update on Blond Latina on SF Rd. I didn't spend much time looking on Monday, and Tuesday as it appeared dead, but she was there today at about 3:00pm. The first time I picked her up I had my Gold Lincoln, but this time i was in my Toyota Pick Up and she didn't recognize me? I guess? Still no communication, at all. She shook her head no and started to walk away. I coaxed her back and she finally got in saying one word, Police? Shit, I started looking around for the cops, then motioned toward the Motel. sayed Police/Motel? No response! She might have thought I was the Police? Who knows? I'm paranoid because I once got caught in a sting and would be screwed if I got caught again. Anyway I was kinda bummed and the thrill wasn't there like before. but we got a room, same deal, and I left with a smile on my face. I think I should warn you things didn't seem right. You know the feeling, something wierd has been going on? Maybe that's the reason we haven't seen anyone out there the past few days, because a buddy of mine did get busted in the same Motel in a Police Sting. There is a Police station about 4 blocks away, a block west of San Fernando Rd. on Osborn. I'm also thinking you Caucasian Mongers may have a hard time getting her to get into your car? I'm Caucasian, but have Olive skin and dark hair. Like a Hispanic!This may be the only reason she got into my car in the first place? I think I'd stay out of the area and forget this? Just a gut feeling, but it just could be me? Somethings not right, I can feel it and since there is no communication to make a judgment call? Better to be safe, than sorry? This is just a suggestion, so please don't take it the wrong way.

I appreciate the details in your report, but I know from experience that a lot of people find it very difficult to read a report that is written as one long block of text. It's kind of like trying to eat an entire steak in one bite.

I know how this happens: You're banging away at the keyboard, putting your thoughts into the report as fast as you can write them. However, if you could hit the return key every few sentences while you're writing, and thus break your report into smaller paragraphs, your report would be much easier to read, which would certainly be appreciated by your fellow Forum Members.
