Just wanted to poat a cautionary tale for you guys. I made the dumbest mistake ever. I have been on SA for a number of years. Getting SA membership shoudlnt be THIS complicated. VPN definitely is one of the keys that screwed me up.

The gift card banking provider will have instructions. Usually you register the card and provide a name and address for online purchases. Of course you can make up any info you like. Just make sure to stay off a VPN while making the purchase thru SA. Once you purchase I don't think it matters too much if you are on a VPN.

This is how I do it.

1. I create an ambiguous LLC through a registered argent. I currently use a cover of "marketing research company" or my last one was an "investment" company which the name was something like "St. Louis Capital Investments, LLC". You get the picture.

2. Open up business bank account and Credit Card under the new LLC name. (fund it, $10,000 is a good starter amount in my opinion) (Hint: You can issue a business CC in anyone's name).

3. Buy a domain name that matches the company name that comes with email and if you want website hosting. (buy the privacy part, and email is a must) (Hint: I always build out a website and create a logo, it cost $100 to $150 on fiverr. The more real you make it, the less questions you will get.).

4. Use above CC and domain email to sign up for the SA sites.

This is gold. Members take note. Although this is not the only solution it sets you up for other anonymous purchases that you do T want your SO to know about. If you don't use the registered agent just be careful to pay your bill on time every time. Get a prepaid Visa at your location grocery store and pay with cash. You can't use a VPN especially when purchasing the membership as the payment processor will often block the transaction and then your SA account is suspended. Get on a local WIFI somewhere if that's your concern.

This is why my hard and fast rule is "no money before we meet". They will try to sell pics, ask for gas money, etc. But the answer is always no, even if it means they bail. If they say they need money for the Uber, I offer to call one for them and pay for it and 9/10 end up ending the convo there which tells me it was a scam. Getting scammed twice was my fault but it won't happen again.
