So, how does it work? Do you have to pay for a date? Do you have to pay just for the initial meeting? I am definitely not paying just for the privilege of meeting someone to break the ice. I don't pay until after services are rendered.

You make an offer of how much you are willing to pay for a date and if they accept, credits are deducted from your account when you initiate messaging. Usually (at least for me) a $100 offer gets you a reply and that costs 20 credits.

You have essentially agreed to going on a platonic date and giving them the amount for their time. You can of course take the discussion further and arrange other things. YMMV here but you are only out the cost of the credits.

Has anyone encountered profiles that don't load? You don't get a "profile not found" error, but instead you get a blank page with the little animating "working" icon. Here are a couple of examples of pages that do not load for me:
