The potential for corruption from illegal, cash-heavy businesses can't be discounted. It would be very easy to line one's pockets. Don't forget, when the Feds busted an AMP. A few months ago for bribery, it was because the mamasan wanted "the same arrangement" that someone who ran another AMP had with the local cops and offered cash.

Sexual Tourism is a big part of Hawaii's economy. I mean tour buses drop off loads of guys at VIP Relaxation. There are those tiny flyers in Japanese / Chinese / Korean telling men to go to the local massage parlors for beautiful girls. They honestly can't let them run unchecked but HPD will never shut them down entirely. They got too many customers among them anyway.

I think that's something that goes unsaid. If you want a destination that gets business from conventioneers, you need adult entertainment. Vegas tried to be family friendly in the '90's, but they reversed course quick with the "What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas" campaign. Besides the small convention center, I think the fact that there's no legal gambling, anywhere in Hawaii and its schizophrenic approach to strip bars and AMPs makes Honolulu a less attractive destination for conventions.

Early this morning (predawn), six of the seven mongering businesses at the Wong Building were still open. Although it was "lights out" at the seventh, GoGo Spa, interestingly the exterior door (not the second door) was open.

Thursday afternoon a moving company truck was parked on the street loading items from unit 205.

Since the Fed (Federal Home Land Security) involved, they should be quiet and stop for a while. Putting up the ad there like chalenging the Law. The penalty will be more severe. Seem that this time the Fed will investigate more MP to detect immigration fraud and human trafficking. BE SAFE!
