To add to this inquiry. For those of you that can't host like myself but still need to be descreet. Is there a trick to getting a room without needing to use credit? I know some places don't take pre paid cards. Anybody renting out a room in their house for ppms? Kidding, kind of.

I think a previous poster mentioned using a CC on file at the hotel, but paying in cash. If you have a snoopy / suspicious S. O. That can still be problematic as the temporary hold may still be present for a few days. If you can, get a CC w / o their knowledge and use your work address, etc.

A fellow Monger on here had made his AirBnB available, just had to pay the cleaning fee of $75. But I haven't seen him around for a few years.

It's been a minute since I used hotels, but when I did, they got used to seeing me often and let me pay with cash. Other than that, you know you can put a card to hold for expenses, but then pay for the room in cash. So the charge won't show on your cc bill.

Has anyone had any luck with this site? To try to get away from all of the fake accounts, I signed up to check it out. No luck yet, different format. I'm thinking the scam here may be from the site owners and not fake profiles. But it's early in the game, just signed up today. Input?
