I made my first trip to Maui since before we were all under COVID house arrest. I made my annual pilgrimage to Little Beach and also visit, for the first time, Po'olenalena Beach, which is just a few miles away. I visited both on Sunday, Sep 24. Here is the Readers' Digest versions:

Little Beach: There have been major changes which have been previously reported, none for the better.

You now have to pay to park at Big / Little Beach. It's $10 per car + $5 for each person. Even if you park along the road and walk in, they still charge you $5. I don't know how they would enforce that. You can pay for parking using the Parkmobile app or use the Parkmobile machines.

Most of you know that they installed a gate about halfway up the lava flow path. The sign says that Little Beach closes at 4:00 pm, coincidentally, right when the drum circle would start on Sunday.

The entire beach closes at 7:00 pm.

There were a lot more people who weren't naked. Back in the old days, you would hardly ever see anyone who wasn't naked. That was the whole point of Little Beach. Today, probably no more than 20% of the people were naked.

I left just about 4:00 pm because I believed the sign. But, there were tons of people arriving, some of whom were carrying drums. Wished I had stayed, but I believed the signs and didn't want the gate locked.

I decided to head on over to Po'olenalena Beach, since it was on the way back to Wailea.

There were the same signs about closing at 7:00 pm.

Parking was free.

You get to the clothing-optional beach by following the path at the far right of the parking lot There is a lava hill to navigate, but it's not as tricky as Little Beach.

The clothing-optional location is at the far end. There is a small beach hidden from the rest of the beach by an outcropping of lava. There were only four people naked.

If you want to swim naked, you have to go out in the general portion of the beach, since it's not completely secluded like Little Beach. There were several families on the textile part of the beach who could see anyone swimming naked.

It was a good experiment, but I won't go back to do nude swimming.

It's a consenting adult wasteland on Maui. Your best bet is to check reputable escort sites to find out if someone will be visiting Maui while you're there. The second option is to make sure your flight connects through HNL and that you have enough time to sample what the city has to offer.

You might want to take her to Little Beach, which is a clothing-optional beach in Makena State Park near Wailea. There's a short but rugged climb over a lava rock hill to get there, so make sure you bring good shoes. Okay, I have a question for all the mongers out there. I have always asked our lovely ladies who frequent our islands for services they provide.
