This is the important point for sure since you're going to be with them for days not hours. I have always kept two types of SB at a time, the young fuck toy (21-27) and the more experienced, has lived on their own, maybe a child and held a job (28-39) one. The older SBs know how to behave on vacation, usually appreciate it immensely as an escape from their normal life, and can typically carry on interesting conversations or at least not make you wince with some comment every five minutes. The fuck toys view vacations as you being there to entertain them while the older SBs know it is the other way around. I tend to view the fuck toys as more like long term escorts and compartmentalize appropriately. The older ones are the ones that get treated like girlfriends because they typically demonstrate the willingness reciprocate the understanding.

So I've taken many vacations with the GF type SB and never had a bad experience, it just requires understanding what you have before inviting them. I travel periodically for work to the "Left" coast. So back in 2018, I am onboard for a project in Santa Clara for a large corporation. Wife is buried with project deadlines so she can't make it (which sucks, because we always have great adventures). So ask one of my SB's if they are up for a trip to California. Since my company is paying for all of the expenses, she jumps at the opportunity. We get there, and I hand her a prepaid debit card with a few hundred on it. Since I am busy from 8 to 5, she can spend her time shopping / sightseeing. The evenings were occasional dinners with the client (I introduced her as my daughter who was looking at different colleges to attend). Then back to the room and lots of sex. Overall it was okay. I think if it had been only a week instead of two weeks, it would of been a lot better.

I agree about the hosting, in my experience that is more of a deal breaker than being married. In my case I've thought about using open relationship rather than married since in my case the wife had an affair 12 years ago but I stayed for the kids but it's been separate bedrooms since then with more of a don't ask, don't tell situation when it comes to meeting intimacy needs.
